Chapter 386 386 - Trapped creature
Since the chickens made their request, Fan and Tian went to find Juda for some fried chicken. After just a year into the apocalypse, chicken and meat became a rarity. Most of the beasts had mutated and they had all become inedible except a few. They ran a certain amount of risk even if they ended up eating it.
Only a few boxes of preserved chicken and other canned meats remained. Thankfully Juda's space could maintain the temperature of the food that was stored in it so they hadn't spoiled in the two years they had kept it in.
"Chicken for chickens?" Juda repeated again thinking she heard wrong.
"Yes, chickens want chicken to dig a trap for us."
"What kind of nonsense is this," even if she said so Juda pulled out a packet of frozen fried chicken from her space and handed it to her.
Tian kissed her cheeks softly. "Thanks, babe."
"don't tell the other I gave you this," she secretly kissed her lips. "Anything for my wife."
Tian heated up her palm making it sizzling hot. She then picked out a piece of frozen fried chicken and heated it up like a grill.
The chickens who were silently waiting in the car jumped out and ran to them as soon as they smelled the tantalizing smell of fried chicken/
They clucked around Tian waiting for her to feed them.
Juda gaped at this. "This is too fuckin weird."
"Whatever their boat," Tian fed the chickens. They all happily chowed it down and in mere seconds the fried chicken disappeared.
"Now that you guys are done. It's time to do your job. follow me," Fan led the chickens to the back of their team and subtly hid them with his figure. "Dig through the ground and make it unstable. I want the pit to be deep so that a few thousand zombies can be held in it."
The chickens looked at him blankly.
"Well go on then,"
They all stared to peck at the ground and in no time their small tails disappeared onto the ground.
Fan did not stand around any longer. He hurriedly puled everyone into the vans and they were ready to leave any minute.

Liwei who was watching them from the distance frowned. It was late in the evening Yue's team never traveled so late before. It was hard to see anything and it was risky for humans.
'why are they leaving in such a hurry…' Liwei glanced at a few zombies behind him. "go follow them."
It did not look that serious. So, Liwei rested on the boulder.
He could catch up to them quickly. He did not need to do anything else.
Liwei gazed back at the prison base in the distance. It was a few Liwei was slightly tempted to see this so-called high-rank zombie.
days away from here. But he could vaguely sense that terrifying creature even from this distance. That creature was deadly and fearsome.
Liwei was slightly tempted to see this so-called high-rank zombie.
if this zombie can join his ranks, they would be undefeated. They can rake the world and overtake it with ease.
even though he had thousands of undead following his lead he still did not feel reassured. Fan Xui was too powerful. he did not have the confidence to win against him. plus, Yue also seems to have weird powers. going against them rashly would only end up meeting his demise. again.
'I need that powerful creature by my side… I have to recruit it….'
his new powers allowed him to control any zombies that was a level below him. but this Zombie he sensed in that prison base was a tad bit more powerful than him.
'Maybe I should challenge it. if it is defeated it might fall under my control...'
'I really need a powerful subordinate…'
His eyes fell on the water zombie that was casually walking around looking at wild poppies. the school uniform the zombie was wearing was always wet as its body secreted a slimy substance.
Liwei could not stand its untidy look. even so, he pulled out a few dried fish from his pocket and tossed them at the creature.
The water zombie giggled catching the fish mid-air like a puppy.
"That stupid creature though… why do I have pig teammates" Liwei grumbled with a slight smile on his face.
The water zombie who picked him up was never violent. He never hurt a human being.
It was the worst kind of accomplice to have around him.
"Useless…."
he gave a look at the creature one last time. "Hey!"
the water zombie looked at him with a puzzled gaze.
"Stay here, don't go anywhere. got it?"
When the creature didn't answer him, Liwei sighed and ran in the direction of the prison base leaving his huge hoard of zombies to stand in wait.
Alone he was quicker.
Liwei gazed at the metal walls with a frown. He tried to probe that presence with his own. But that overweening strength repulsed him away.
he trembled slightly peering at the base. his whole body was trembling in fear. this creature was not so simple…
It was a predator.
It will eat him if he got close.
he gulped. the fight was not worth it.

The water zombie gazed back with a small pout. He could not feel his presence any longer. But he still did not run after him. he walked ahead to the spot where the humans had camped before.
He could smell few familiar humans. He had met them when they were in his river. they even cleaned up his home for him.
he wanted to greet them.
'But how' the zombie tilted his head. He had seen humans make weird sounds.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe tried it, it only made his jaw lock up in a weird angel.
the silly water zombie tried to adjust it but it only made his loose jaws worse.
With that crying fearful look on his face, he walked through the dirt road.
All of a sudden, the ground under him collapsed. He fell shoulder deep into a narrow ditch. His whole body was wedged in the gap with his hands up his head. He was unable to move.
He was stuck.
"ammm... ammmmm…" he wriggled his feet, trying to climb up but that only made his body slide down until he was in the deep dark ground. only his hands wiggled trying to gain a foothold to climb up.
"Looks like we caught one of them," Tian gazed down. She was only able to see a slightly shimmering hand peeking out. "This one even has scales… weird."
"Burn it down," Fan coldly peered down. "Fuck I thought we had caught Liwei."
"He is not that easy to catch," Tian dropped a huge flame ball down.
"AMMMMMMM!!!! AMMMMMM!!!," the zombie screamed loudly as its body was burned to a crisp.
If it was a human, it would have been heart-wrenching but… this was a zombie. a cruel zombie that kills and eats humans for a living. They did not pity it one bit.
Soon the deep stench of burned bodies spread around.
Fan and Tian did not wait along. They hopped onto the car that was waiting nearby and drove off to set up their camp elsewhere.
Only the wheel tracks were left behind.
It was deep at night when Liwei returned to his spot. He once gains laid on the boulder looking at his army with satisfaction. 'What if that creature rejected me? I have these cronies. I can make Yue's life a living hell with them. After I devour those bitches' brains, I will be even more powerful.
He could not see that familiar blue scaled leg anywhere.
"Where is he?"
He asked the nearby zombie.
It pointed ahead at the road.
Liwei speedily jumped down the boulder and ran a few kilometers to reach the spot.
"You silly thing where are you? I got you some fish… come eat it..." he shook the bag of dried fish he carried around.
