As a secretary who had always been cool-headed and poised, Katherine had an urge to fling her arms around Scarlett's legs and yell, "I love you, boss!" She had been working under Scarlett for five years. Ninety percent of the projects that Scarlett had deemed promising had turned out to be very lucrative. The second round of financing of YetLeague had not started yet, but given that Scarlett had said such words, she clearly had plans to make an additional investment. Considering how rich Scarlett was, YetLeague wouldn't be able to go bankrupt even if the owner wanted it to.

Katherine found it hard to believe that Scarlett was so generous as to give her five percentage points. She was having trouble keeping her face calm.

After watching the look in her secretary's eyes change for a moment, Scarlett resumed, "Run a background check on Nylah for me." On hearing her words, Katherine instantly composed herself. "Okay. I'll email you the results in the afternoon." Katherine struck Scarlett as such a dedicated and smart secretary that Scarlett felt obliged to give her a pay raise.

"Thank you." "It's my job." Scarlett smiled, "Well, | need to go back. I'm sorry | can't give you a ride." "It's okay, Ms. Reed." Katherine stepped aside and watched Scarlett duck into her car and drive off. Then Katherine called the chauffeur of the company and told him to pick her up.

After her phone conversation with the chauffeur, Katherine immediately called her assistant and instructed her to look into Nylah.

In fact, she had done a background check on Nylah several months ago, but she had done that only to provide Scarlett with sbasic information about Nylah. However, this taround Scarlett clearly wanted something less known.

Without Ralph at Nylah's back, it was now very easy for Scarlett to fix Nylah.

Meanwhile, Ralph who had returned to the company not long ago seemed to have only just caught on. Frowning, he glanced at the secretary standing beside him. "When did Nylah meet Suny?" It was still a mystery to many people whether Suny, the president of MoCorporation, was a man or a woman.

Ssaid that Suny was a woman because the nsounded more like a woman's name, but most people believed that Suny was a man. Apart from anything else, Suny, the owner of MoCorporation, was indeed an outstanding businessperson, considering that Suny had brought MoCorporation up several rungs of the commercial ladder in only eight years. Now the investment company could almost compare with Tsing Corporation which had a history of decades.

Ralph's secretary was also quite confused. "I don't think Ms. Waddington could get an audience with Suny." Ralph pulled up an office chair, loosened his tie and sneered, "That's hard to say. Seeing as how Nylah is now so high in the hierarchy, she's definitely not what she seems. Everybody seeks to improve their social status. In her eyes, I'm just a springboard. Her final targets are leading figures like Suny." A sarcastic smile touched Ralph's lips after he said that. "She putin the cross hairs only because she failed to seduce Stephen, remember?" Ralph's secretary didn't dare make any remarks on that. If he made a response, Ralph might send him packing the next day.

However, Nylah's attempt to seduce Stephen had indeed caused quite a stir back at that time. Almost everybody in this industry knew about it.

At that time, Nylah had only just entered the show business. After starring in a movie, she had shot to fovernight. As a starlet that the Sunrigal Corporation valued the most, she attended the annual conference of the company that year. Stephen had been friends with Alexander for over twenty years. He had only stayed in the venue for half an hour when Nylah put him in the cross hairs.

But at that tNylah was the most valued starlet, and there were two TV s in production. The Sunrigal Corporation had invested a lot of money in her. Stephen had let her off the hook as a personal favor to Alexander.

On that night Nylah had tricked someone into drugging her, believing that she would have more leeway after the plan worked, but unexpectedly, Stephen had directly chucked her out of the room.

News of it had spread throughout the city that very night. It had caused quite a sensation. Though so many years had passed and Nylah was now a popular star, everybody in the industry knew that she was a laughing stock.

Stephen had inflicted a minor defeat on Ralph, which was why Ralph did not refuse when Nylah threw herself at him. The reason why Ralph had not dumped Nylah was more because he wanted to spite Stephen than because he was fairly pleased with her.

But now Nylah had made an enemy of someone she couldn't afford to mess with, so Ralph naturally wouldn't clean up her mess again.

He felt that he had done enough for her over the years.

"Call Nylah and tell her to pick a house and a car, and that I'm done with her." They were a break-up gift. Everybody knew how things worked in this industry.
