Chapter 504 98% In the evening, Whitney accompanied Joanna to the hospital so Ellie could go hfor a much-needed rest. After leaving the hospital, Ellie suddenly collapsed, overwhelmed by exhaustion. She was discovered by Marvin's son, Lewis.

"Are you pregnant?" he asked, his concern evident. Lewis was tall and slender, in his thirties, with a buzz cut and casual summer clothes. He quickly helped Ellie to a shaded spot while checking her pulse.

13 Feeling weak, Ellie pulled her hand back and avoided Lewis's gaze, panic washing over her. “Lewis, I'm not pregnant. There's just been a lot happening at hlately, and I've been feeling low. That's why my pulse is off." "I sec. I misspoke. Where are you headed? Letgive you a ride," Lewis offered, trying to steer the conversation away from the sensitive topic.

Gratefully, Ellie accepted his offer and got into his car. Lewis was a skilled practitioner of medicine; he had learned to diagnose pulses by the age of seven and started prescribing medicine by thirteen.

His earlier comment about misreading her condition was his way of trying to ease the tension. She couldn't bring herself to share the truth about her pregnancy.

Alex had shot at Layton's wedding. Even without checking her phone all day, she knew that this scandal had exploded on social media.

Inside the hospital room, Aaron had suggested visiting Alex in prison, but she couldn't do it. Everything that had gone wrong with the Owens family had started with Alex, and she felt no gratitude toward him. She didn't change her mind either.

After Ellie left, Quinlee appeared from behind, looking shocked. Watching Lewis's car drive away, with Ellie inside, Quinlee angrily threw her lemonade to the ground, stomping on it repeatedly.

"That bitch is pregnant?" she fumed. Although Ellie hadn't admitted it outright, her frail look and evasive expression were clear signs of her secret.

Initially, Quinlee had planned to use Ethan as a pawn to get rid of Ellie but was taken aback when Ethan couldn't fend off Aaron, who casily took him down. Then Alex shot him dead.

After all that effort, she felt like she had been fetching nothing. But with Ethan gone, she wouldn't have to worry about him getting caught and implicating her.

Now that Alex was in prison, if Ellie wasn't pregnant, it would break any chance of Alex and Ellie reuniting.

But now that a child was involved, everything was complicated. Quinlee couldn't allow Alex any more chances to be with Ellie. She could not let Ellie give birth to the heir of the Warren family.

Two days later, after checking on Aaron in the hospital, Ellie was m getting ready to leave when she ran into Winnie and Quinlee. A few minutes later, Ellie found herself in Winnie's van.
