Chapter 724: She Betrayed Him?
Bai Qinghao instructed someone coldly. “Lock her away. Interrogate her about the stranger’s appearance and locate her down!” action
“Yes, sir.”
…
In the Bai family’s old mansion’s exquisite, Chinese-style garden, Fang Xinxin was in the midst of a chess game with Elder Bai.
However, she was in no way an opponent to the Elder.
She always ended up in a defeat mid-way. After losing another round, Fang Xinxin scrunched her beautiful face into a fierce look. “I’m not going to play anymore. Grandfather keeps bullying me!”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“In that case, Grandfather shall give into you in the next round?” Bai Chongshan stroked his beard with a smile.
Everytime he played chess with his grandson, he would lose. But everytime he played with his granddaughter-in-law, he would regain those victories. It truly left him in a good mood.
Fang Xinxin’s chess skills weren’t actually poorer than the elder. She was losing to him intentionally to make him happy. “Who needs you to give into me?”
“Alright, alright. In that case, you’ll have to work harder.” Elder Bai was in an extremely good mood. “Who knows, you may beat this old man one day.”
“Hmph.” She intentionally responded. “One day, I’ll definitely win.”
The elder brought his phone out to check the time. “Didn’t Qinghao say that he would be back by this time? Why isn’t he home yet?”
Right after he spoke, a black SUV drove into the old mansion’s yard.
Bai Qinghao alighted from the car and approached them with a frigid cold appearance.
His vicious gaze gave them the false illusion that they were surrounded by typhoons. A layer of frost seemed to have crystalised the area.
All the helpers were left scuttering away in fright.
“Qinghao…” Elder Bai had begun.
Bai Qinghao’s expression was dark as he took hold of Fang Xinxin’s wrist. He then began dragging her towards the main building.
His harsh grip left her in pain. She frowned and tried to escape his hold. “What are you doing?”
“Hey, what are you doing to my granddaughter-in-law?” Elder Bai tried to follow them in worry. However, Bai Qinghao turned back and shot him a cold look in warning. “Don’t interfere!”
His murderous gaze made it impossible for the elder man to continue.
Fang Xinxin wasn’t sure what happened either. Nonetheless, she rushed to comfort him. “Grandfather, I’m alright.”
She did not continue to struggle for fear that the old man would worry and followed Bai Qinghao obediently into the old mansion.
Bai Qinghao dragged her up to the third storey. The moment the room door was slammed shut, he tossed her onto the bed.

Fang Xinxin hit his chest. “Bai Qinghao, you’ve gone mad. What are you doing!”
The murderous intent in Bai Qinghao’s gaze worsened. He gritted his teeth. “Fang Xinxin, I told you before. If you betray me, you’ll die!”
She understood that his rationality was being controlled by his anger. She immediately agreed. “Fine.”
Her response was decisive and it left Bai Qinghao startled for a moment.
He took in her bright, open gaze. It was completely unfazed.
His enraged mind suddenly quietened. This was because his thoughts were softly beginning to speak up for her. There was no way she would betray him…
In their previous life, the more enraged he was, the more Fang Xinxin went against him.
This time, however, she did the exact opposite. She lifted her small, fair hands and held his cheeks. “Even if you want me to die, you should at least let me understand why, right?”
The anger that was dissipating in Bai Qinghao’s gaze immediately re-ignited.
He brought his phone out and played a recording of a conversation between a man and a woman:
“Mr. Fang, I’m so sorry. I told Madam about the things that happened between Miss Xinxin and you.” A middle-aged woman’s voice could be heard.
“What do you mean?” It was Fang Shaohua’s voice.
