Chapter 1368 Made Her Laugh! Selena chuckled, "Let's go." Leia immediately turned around and made a phone call. Soon, Lady Lauren's car stopped outside the villa to pick up Selena.
Selena took Leia with her and went to the designated location to meet Hattie.
Hattie was standing by the roadside with a backpack. Leia opened the car door, and Selena thought she would jump up happily as usual. But she saw Hattie standing on the roadside, looking at her with a difficult expression.
Selena raised her eyebrows and then saw someone open the car door behind Hattie. Leon walked out gracefully and smiled at her, "Lady Selena, do you have time to chat?" Selena's eyes flickered slightly, but her expression remained calm, "Of course." Lady Lauren smiled and walked down to take Hattie's hand, "I'll take Hattie for a walk and pick you up later." Selena touched Hattie's hair, "Go ahead, nothing will happen.” Hattie frowned and glared at Leon warningly. If it weren't for Leon telling her that he had something important to discuss with Selena, she wouldn't have agreed to bring him to meet Selena.
After Lady Lauren and Hattie left, Selena turned and walked towards the café on the street. Leia looked at Leon strangely for a moment, then followed Selena.
Selena walked into the café and looked around before walking upstairs. Leon followed behind her and pushed open the door of a private room when Selena stopped.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtErica, who was sitting inside the room, immediately stood up when she heard the noise. She walked to the door and carefully looked at Selena for a moment. There was a hint of affection in her eyes as she said, "You've grown so much in the blink of an eye." Selena looked at the gentle and elegant woman and showed no surprise on her face. Hearing her words, there was a faint glimmer in her eyes, "Mrs. Riddle." "Don't call me that awkward name," Erica raised her chin, "you can call me Officer Erica!" Selena smiled and readily complied, "Officer Erica." Erica saw her smile and walked back to sit at the table, waving her hand at Leon, "I need to talk to Selena for a few moments.
You can wait outside." Leon glanced helplessly at his mother and eventually turned and walked out.
Erica personally poured a cup of tea for Selena and looked at the beautiful young girl in front of her, liking her more and more.
When she was young, she was injured while on a mission and after giving birth to Leon, she was not suitable to have any more children. So even though she always envied having a daughter, she couldn't have one of her own. It was inevitable that there was some regret.
And Selena bore some resemblance to Leon. If she had a daughter, she would surely be just as pretty and obedient as Selena.
"You look so much like Nevaeh..." Selena had become immune to people saying she looked like Nevaeh. After all, everyone who knew Nevaeh said the same thing.
Selena smiled faintly. "I'm different from my mother." Erica nodded. "Your personality is indeed more like your father's." Selena remained silent.
She could only comfort herself in secret. This was Selena’s body. It was only natural that she was like her own parents.
Erica teased, "I've been wanting to meet you, but couldn't find the opportunity. Now | finally have.” Selena knew that this lady wouldn't want to meet her for no reason, but if Erica didn't bring it up, she wouldn't either. "I'm pretty busy, so please don't mind, Officer Erica." Erica chuckled at her serious face. "No need to be so formal.” "In terms of feelings, your mother and | were good friends." "In terms of reason, | only stand for justice and righteousness," Selena said.
Selena smiled, "Well, I'm sure my mother will recognize you as a friend even if she doesn't recognize her sister-in-law.” Erica chuckled again. "Your mouth is so sweet." Selena wondered why Daphne didn't want such a pretty and cute granddaughter and instead spoiled Penelope, who was sweet- faced but had a bad heart.
After a few words, Erica's smile faded. "Leon said you're planning to go after the Riddle family. Can you tell me why?" Selena replied without revealing anything. "It's probably the same reason why you insisted on seeing me." If Erica wasn't an experienced police officer with a sharp intuition, she might have been deceived by Selena. She looked into Selena's clear, dark eyes for a moment before showing surprise on her face. "You don't remember?" Although it was a question, her tone was affirmative.
Selena remained calm. "I don't remember it very well. After all, | was young at the time and didn't remember much." "But it's enough,” Erica said.
She looked at Erica, her eyes with a hint of coldness. "Would you help me recall something?" Erica stared at Selena, but did not speak.
Clearly, she had not expected Selena to have forgotten everything. Even in her current state, Selena had no plans of letting the Riddle family go.

After a long silence, Erica shook her head. "It's not that | don't want to help you. But if Nevaeh wants you to forget this memory, | cannot just tell you anything." Selena picked up the teacup on the table and took a sip. She couldn't deny Erica's answer.
Looking at the girl's indifferent expression, Erica said, "If you ever remember and decide to seek revenge, | will help you." "I will be a witness for you and Nevaeh, and | will help you expose the truth and send those criminals to court!" This was exactly what Selena had been waiting for. She raised her teacup, toasted Erica, and smiled. "Thank you, Officer Erica." Erica returned the gesture with a cup of her own.
The two of them made a promise over tea.
Before leaving, Erica said to Selena, "I know you want to retaliate against the Riddle family. The old lady and the old man got what they deserved, and the second family deserved their punishment too." "But..." Erica glanced in the direction of the door and chuckled. "Be gentle with my son, especially his face. I'm still waiting to use his face to have my granddaughter.” After all, everyone in the capital knew that Miss Turner was the best at slapping faces.
Daphne and Maddox would not be spared.
Selena raised an eyebrow, smiling, and promised solemnly, "Don't worry, Officer Erica. As long as Mr. Riddle doesn't mess with me, | promise to give him back to you in one piece." With the assurance, Erica stood up, graceful and confident, and walked out.
A few minutes later, Leon, dressed elegantly, walked in and sat opposite Selena.
"Has he told you about the recent developments in the capital?” Selena did not look up, holding her teacup and sipping slowly.
