With Legatus Sarah's help and vouch, it was no problem to join the Silverflame Camp.
Zayn felt that it was a little but sudden but he wouldn't abandon such a great opportunity.
In the Silverflame Camp, he could search members of the Normie Union and ask them about the whereabouts of the headquarters. At the same time, it wouldn't be too much of a problem to recall a few more memories about the past using the Cavern Tower of the Casilian.
With that in mind, it was only obvious that he would join the Silverflame Camp. It was a great opportunity and not something he should put aside.
The Silverflame Camp made things much easier for him, especially because he didn't really have much of a plan when it came to figuring out how to find the Normie Union.
"Looks like luck is on our side," Jeremy mumbled as they made their way to the infirmary to meet up with the remaining members of the 352nd Hunting Unit.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey wanted to tell the other members that Zayn joined their Hunting Unit, and that their rank had shot through the roof thanks to the six missions they had completed thanks to Zayn. Right now, they were already in the top 300, which meant that their living conditions would improve with the weeding process at the end of the month. The weeding would be in three days, and as long as the 50 Hunting Units ranked lower than them wouldn't complete as difficult missions as their Hunting Unit had completed, nothing bad would happen to them.
It was near impossible for them to be kicked out of the Silverflame Camp now that their rank was so high, and all of that was thanks to their encounter with Zayn.
If not for Zayn, some of them would have died in the encounter with the Trolls, and more would have succumbed to the dangers of the forest on their way back to the Silverflame Camp.
"I could say the same thing. Thanks for accepting me in your Unit," Zayn said with a faint smile on his face. It was a lot easier to get accepted into the Silverflame Camp than expected. This was also partially because Jeremy jumped forward to take him under his wings.
Jeremy accepted him into their Hunting Unit without any hesitation. His reasoning might have been a little selfish, but Zayn was not really bothered about that. He knew that Jeremy cared a lot about his teammates, and he actually liked the members of the 352nd Hunting Unit. They were kind people, who cared a lot about each other.
Zayn was pretty sure that some of them would even be willing to risk their lives to protect one another. In fact, that had actually happened as David protected Leona when she lost consciousness during their battle with the Troll.
Once they reached the infirmary, Jeremy, Mike, and Miranda rushed over to Leona, David, and Kevin. They made sure that everyone was fine and that they wouldn't have any permanent issues. That was the most important.
Only after they found out that David's broken arms would heal quickly after a few healing sessions, and that both Kevin and Leona were already doing much better did the others start to reveal the good news.
They told the three patients that they got a new member, that their rankings shot into the top 300, and that there was no need to worry about getting kicked out. With Zayn by their side, it was only obvious that they would be able to complete difficult missions.
Zayn was a good kid, and everyone liked him. Thus, it was simply too perfect that he joined them.
The news was good enough to bring tears to Leona's eyes and for Kevin to jump up and hug Zayn, who had been standing a little bit further back to make sure that the others would have a good time. He didn't really feel like pulling their attention to him by standing around.
"If you want to become a member of our Hunting Unit, you will have to stay closer to us. That way, we can catch you once you try to run away! Hhahah!" Kevin shouted out loudly before he burst into laughter.
He was too happy to bother about the people around him. The other patients, the nurses, and the medics stared in their direction, but Kevin was totally unbothered.
"Alright alright. Just let go of me," Zayn said, using bits of his strength to push Kevin lightly away. Kevin was currently still a little exhausted, especially after his fractured arms had been healed. The nutrition in his body had been used up to execute the healing process. This made it even easier for Zayn to push the young man aside.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Huh? Why are you pushing me away? As brothers in arms, hugging is totally fine. This is even more true so now that you join our Hunting Unit. Today is worth celebrating!" Kevin declared, clenching his fist and shooting into the sky.
This was followed by an exclamation on his side and frowns from everywhere around them.
"Kevin, keep your voice a little bit lower in the infirmary. There are patients who need rest." Jeremy scolded Kevin after putting him aside.
This gave Zayn the opportunity to step to the left and increase the distance to Kevin once again.
"By the way, we earned quite a lot of merit points thanks to the missions. Once I sell the monster corpses and a few other things I've hoarded we can go and eat something. I think everyone is quite hungry, and it doesn't look like the Silverflame Camp hands out highly nutritious food to those ranking in the 300s. Let's splurge some merit points!" Zayn proposed, saliva accumulating in his mouth.
It had been way too long since he had some good food, and he didn't feel like waiting any longer.
"Well…the merit points actually belong to you. But shouldn't we buy equipment from that? That way, it will be easier to survive the following missions." Mike pointed out two things that had to be taken into consideration.
What was more important; food, or safety?
Well, the answer was pretty obvious.
Food of course!
