Chapter 2012 Forgive Me
Ian pulled her over to him before touching her face. "Calm down. I'm fine now, aren't I?"
Cindy frowned and hesitated for a moment before speaking. "How could you get yourself injured? That was so
careless of you."
Ian was reluctant to tell Cindy that he had gotten injured because he was trying to protect the female lead. Both of
them were in the midst of filming, and the prop had actually fallen in the direction of the female lead. Ian only got
injured because he was trying to save her.
He didn't tell Cindy about this, not because he had anything to hide, but because he didn't want Cindy to overthink.
It had been an instinctive gesture for him to protect the girl, and it had nothing to do with his feelings for her.
However, others might not trust him if he revealed this, so he figured that it'd be better for him to keep his mouth

to happen either. Don't blame me for this, okay?"
Cindy felt her heart melt upon hearing his words. "I'm not blaming you for anything. I was just worried about you."
After spending the morning in the hospital with Ian, they had lunch together before Cindy returned to her company.
She had just started work a while ago, so she felt bad taking time off. The company's lunch break hadn't ended by
the time she got there, so the office was somewhat empty. Cindy sat down and hesitated for a while before she
pulled her phone out to send Gary a text.
She had gotten a brief summary of what Ian and Gary talked about during lunch, and it seemed like Ian dealt with it
pretty well.
It made complete sense for Gary to be angry. Everyone had their own stances on this matter, so the situation was
tricky. Since Gary still didn't reply to Cindy, she had no choice but to put her phone down before pulling out the files
she had been working on.
Ian's injury wasn't too serious. Although he suffered a mild concussion, he would only have to rest for a while before
resuming his filming. Cindy felt rather exasperated upon hearing this. I can't believe he got injured from filming a
modern drama. Is he unlucky, or is there something wrong with the production crew's safety measures?
But since Ian injured his head, the production crew agreed to give him an extension to his holiday so that he could
relax and rest for a while. That was the only silver lining they found in this matter. If Cindy and Ian were to get
engaged then, they wouldn't have to do it in a rush.
After a while, the rest of Cindy's colleagues returned. They all knew that Cindy hadn't been around in the morning—
they were especially observant when it came to matters related to Cindy. When they returned to the office and saw
Cindy there, they started sending each other looks across the room. Cindy was done looking through her files, so
she took some draft paper with the intention of sketching.

Before she could start, Mary walked into the office. Everyone knew that Mary would only come over when she had
to see Cindy, so the rest of Cindy's colleagues immediately turned to look at her once Mary entered. Cindy only
responded to Mary when Mary stopped in front of her desk. "Yes? Is anything the matter?"
Mary nodded. "I was wondering if you're free tonight. Would you like to have dinner?"
"Dinner? Just the two of us?" Cindy was puzzled. Mary quickly shook her head with a smile. "No. Of course it's not
just us. There'll be some managers from other departments." Both of them were speaking in their usual voices, so
the people around them could hear their conversation.
If there are managers from other departments attending this dinner, then it seems like it is a pretty valuable
opportunity. Cindy hesitated for a moment, and Mary immediately picked up on it. "Are you busy tonight?"
Cindy pouted for a moment. "Well, my boyfriend is free to come home tonight. You know how his working hours are
rather odd, right? He's usually busy with filming, so it's rare for us to meet one another. I really wanted to spend the
night at home with him."
Ian's hospitalization was hidden from the public, so Cindy had no choice but to come up with an excuse.
