Chapter 2125 Drunk Aurora
At that moment, she was thinking about Ian, Aurora, and Gary.
These days, Cindy was doing well at the company. The people there weren't especially courteous toward her, but
they no longer gawked at her.
In truth, Gary was the one who brought these benefits to her. Cindy knew that all the nice treatment she had
enjoyed ever since getting into the company was all because of Gary.
She wanted to set a boundary and depend on herself to sustain her work, but the truth was that she wouldn't be
able to do it in the foreseeable future.
Cindy was exasperated. She felt annoyed when she thought about that, so she pulled the blanket over her.
Meanwhile, Aurora probably came home some hours after midnight; Cindy had heard sounds coming from the
outside.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe hadn't been sleeping well these days, so she would wake up when she heard anything move outside.
Cindy listened for a while. The footsteps outside were disorganized, and it sounded like something had been
knocked over.
As such, Cindy hastily got out of bed and retrieved a mop from the bathroom. She went to the door and carefully
opened it by a crack before peering outside.
She did think it might be an intruder, but the living room lights were on, and Aurora had indeed returned.
Aurora leaned against the entrance, and she seemed to be drunk as her footsteps faltered.
Cindy tossed the mop aside and hastily walked over to support her. "What happened? Why did you drink so much?
What were you doing so late out?"
Aurora seemed to be in a good mood as she turned to look at Cindy, her face flushed. "I got another gig tonight.
Don't worry, no one forced me to drink; I drank because I wanted to."
It was true that no one had forced her to drink. At her age, no one would try to take advantage of her. There were
so many pretty ladies in the entertainment industry, and no one would want to take advantage of Aurora while
discussing a gig.
Cindy helped Aurora to the couch and sat her down. Then, she went to the kitchen to get a glass of water for her.
"Why did you drink so much? If you get drunk next time, just call me and I'll go fetch you. I'll become worried seeing
you walk around like that."
Aurora chuckled and brushed it off. She even waved her hand a little. "It's fine, it's fine. I'm old now, so what's there
to be worried about?"
She downed the glass of water and got into a comfortable position on the couch while saying, "With someone like
me, no one would want me even if I offered myself. There are so many choices out there, so they wouldn't consider
someone like me."
Aurora patted her cheeks and grinned. "Look how old I am. My face is full of wrinkles."
She kept degrading herself, but Cindy could see that she was still quite happy.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe kept degrading herself, but Cindy could see that she was still quite happy.
Cindy sat down beside Aurora. "Well, what gigs did you get today?"
Aurora grinned. "An endorsement and a song. Do you know about endorsements? I never even dared to dream of
getting one. Even though it isn't something fancy, it's still easy money compared to singing songs and acting in
shows."
Cindy was happy for her as well. "Now that you're getting endorsements, you'll do even better in the future."
Aurora wasn't particularly trying to do better. She just wanted things to remain as they were, and she would be
satisfied with that.
To be honest, she also knew her limits; it would be too difficult for her to expand further at her age.
In fact, she thought she was already doing quite well to have come to this point.
Those young people might get incredibly famous with one or two roles, but an old woman like her wouldn't even
have a market.
Needless to say, gathering support from fans was an important asset in the industry. At her old age, who would
want to be her fan? The most she could manage was to ride on the bit of news about Ian to get some support from
his fans.
