Chapter 2159 An Invitation
Valerie straightened herself up and went to the set. Ian was already there. Even though there was some distance
between them, their eyes met, and they smiled.
Meanwhile, Cindy was almost late for work. Ian went a bit too far last night, and she slept for a long time after he
had gone out for work. When she woke up, she quickly got dressed and went straight to work without eating
breakfast. After she clocked in, she heaved a sigh of relief and went to her office, but then someone called out to
her.
That person called out to her by her first name. So, she turned around to see who it was, but it took her a few

She had no idea who this person was, and Serena didn't introduce her. In the end, Cindy approached that person.
"Hi, may I help you?"
The person looked at Cindy, smiling. "Care to have lunch together?"
Cindy was surprised. She didn't even talk to this person, so they weren't acquainted. She blinked, wondering why
this person had invited her for lunch. Knowing what Cindy was thinking, the person smiled. "I'm a designer from
another team, and I'm Miss Warhol's junior in college."
Cindy nodded, smiling. She wondered what she should say. I've never seen this person in the column of designers.
Could it be that her ID pic is way different from her actual visage?
The person added, "I know Miss Warhol dotes on you. I'm her friend, so you can come to me if you need anything."
Cindy thanked the person. The person looked at her closely. Even though it was for a moment, Cindy caught the
judgmental look she was given, then the person said, "I'll be waiting at the cafeteria, then. Let's have lunch
together." With that, she left before Cindy could say anything.
Cindy inhaled sharply as she wondered why that person had invited her for lunch. A while later, she went back to
her office, but right after she cleared her table and sat down, Serena came in.
She went right to Cindy's table and tapped on it. "Come with me."
Cindy quickly put her stuff down and followed Serena into her office, wondering why Serena had called her.
Once inside the office, Serena asked Cindy to sit on the chair before the desk. She then took her seat behind the
desk and slowly sighed. "Lucy's talked to you, I see," said Serena.
A frown creased Cindy's forehead, and she looked at Serena curiously. Who's Lucy?
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmOh, right. She doesn't know. Serena closed her eyes as she explained, "The one who came to me yesterday at
lunch."
"Oh." Realization struck Cindy. "Yeah, she hit me up."
"What did she say to you?"
Thinking that there was nothing to hide, Cindy told Serena everything. Serena pursed her lips, her face inscrutable.
Cindy wondered what she was thinking. After she had told Serena everything, she waited for a response.
A long while later, Serena blurted, "Did you get what she meant?"
Confused, Cindy shook her head. "She wanted to treat me to lunch?"
Serena smiled in resignation. "You're still new to the workplace, so you might not understand some of the more
subtle politics."
Cindy admitted that she had no idea what was going on.
