Chapter 2181 Gary’s Visit
After pondering for a moment, Logan replied, "I believe Simon will be convicted soon. He has been cooperative, so
it won't be hard for the police to close the case. When there's any news on that, I'll contact you again."
When their conversation ended, they hung up the call.
Ian let out a sigh of relief. Although many things had happened, he felt that he was getting closer to the life he
wanted. He leaned against the chair and fished out his phone to look at the police's announcement.
No specific details had been disclosed. It was said that they had discovered a mildly decayed corpse. The argument
was probably intense before Leah's death.
It was said that Simon repeatedly struck her face, so it was apparently not an accident. The police would likely
continue looking into the matter.
Ian had never been on good terms with Simon. He had viciously wished for his misfortune before. After all, Simon
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇthad become a spoiled brat as Leah always connived at his wrongdoings.
As expected, something terrible happened, and the person who always doted on Simon was the one getting killed.
When it was finally lunch break, Cindy let out a breath. She was exhausted from getting intimate with Ian the night
before, and she woke up early in the morning. Therefore, she didn't have much energy to deal with work.
Since it was lunchtime, she decided to go home and get some rest. She quickly picked up her stuff and left the
office. It was her first time leaving the company eagerly while her colleagues were still working.
After going downstairs using the exclusive elevator, she strode out of the lobby. The moment she stepped out of the
company, she saw a car on the roadside with the window already lowered. The person inside was initially smoking,
but when he saw the woman, he hurriedly put out the cigarette. He looked at her and said, "Get in."
Cindy was surprised to see Gary there. She greeted the man and approached him before asking, "Are you waiting
for Miss Harrison?"
Gary looked her in the eye and replied, "No, I'm here for you."
Noticing the woman's hesitation, he said again, "Get in."
After hesitating for a bit, Cindy opened the door and entered the car.
The moment the door was closed, Gary stepped on the gas pedal before she could even fasten her seat belt. He
asked, "What would you like to eat?"
In fact, Cindy didn't want to eat anything. She just wanted to go home and rest.
Considering that Gary must have a reason for visiting her, she hesitated for a while before saying, "Something
light."
Gary nodded and drove directly toward a restaurant.
The place wasn't far away from her company, so it didn't take them long to arrive. They remained silent the entire
time.
It wasn't until the waiter led them to a private room that Cindy asked, "Why did you come looking for me, Mr. Frye?
What's the matter?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGary pulled out a chair and sat down. While taking the menu from the waiter, he said, "Could treating you to a meal
be considered an important matter?"
Cindy pursed her lips and forced a smile. "I guess so."
Gary chuckled and fell silent. After flipping through the menu, he ordered some food and passed it to the woman.
"Let's order more food."
Cindy only went through it briefly and ordered some light food. She had lost her appetite, to begin with, and Gary
had ordered a lot of food already.
After the waiter was gone, Gary asked, "Did Lucy go looking for you after the incident? She talked about you when
we were having a meal yesterday, so I felt she must have talked to you. I'm not saying that she's finding fault with
you, but she's usually up to no good."
Cindy didn't mind it. "Yes, she came looking for me and hoped that I could go to her side, but I had turned her
down. I've been happily working under Serena, after all. I don't know if she'll contact me again over this matter,
though."
Gary frowned. "There's something I need to make clear to you so that you know what to do when dealing with her
in the future."
