Chapter 5585
Zeke's expression shifted at the words.
Impossible.
Hardly anyone knew about the loophole near his fairy soul. How did this man know it?
"You..."
Amidst his anger and shock, Zeke's gaze flashed as he stared intently at Prince Auten.
"Who... who are you, really?"
Prince Auten smiled lightly. He did not answer right away, and instead walked closer.
"You're about to die, anyways. I might as well tell you."
Prince Auten lowered his voice as he reached Zeke. "I am Prince Auten. It should be your
honor to die in my hands." His voice was extremely soft, only loud enough for Zeke to hear
him.
What? Prince... Auten?
Just then, Zeke's chest sank upon finding out his real identity. His brain buzzed blankly.
Hadn't Prince Auten been cultivating in solitude ever since he had failed to get the crown?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHow had he come to the Nine Continents, and changed his appearance?
Impossible, there was no way...
At the thought, Zeke tried with all his might to fight back. Yet he had barely struck before
Prince Auten had already reached out, pressing a hand down onto his temple.
Thump!
Zeke's soul was destroyed with a dull hum as he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Just as he fell, Zeke's fairy soul energy drifted out of him.
"Indeed, I'm going to use this to rebuild my fairy soul.
Success is getting closer by the second." Prince Auten gave a satisfied nod, mumbling to
himself as he sat down cross- legged to raise his hands, rapidly absorbing Zeke's powers.
Prince Auten could clearly sense that his own energy was increasing by the second as he
absorbed the powers.
Both Heather and Ambrose could not help but suck in a breath at the sight.
This man... knew how to absorb powers.
Heather was particularly shocked. It seemed that Ambrose had been right— this man
really was from the Godly Region. How else would he have been able to absorb powers?
Whew...
It was not long before Prince Auten had finished absorbing all of Zeke's powers. He got to
his feet slowly, his expression excited and gleeful.
Heather and Ambrose saw this, and grew wary on instinct.
Sensing this, Prince Auten flashed a smile as he said falsely, "Don't be alarmed. This
man's dead, he won't be a threat to you anymore."
To tell the truth, killing Heather and Ambrose now with the powers that Prince Auten had
just absorbed from Zeke was as easy as flattening an ant.
Yet he wanted to track down Darryl, and thus Prince Auten held back and kept the act up.
Heather and Ambrose exchanged a glance at the words." Who are you?"
At the same time, Heather stared at Prince Auten as well, waiting for a response.
Prince Auten gave it some thought, before saying with a grin, "I'm going to be honest- I
was one of the generals in the Godly Region. I committed an offense, and was banished

out of the Godly Region as a result."
Prince Auten had made up a tale just to fob Ambrose off.
Another general?
Ambrose frowned, continuing with his questions. "Why did you help us, then?"
Prince Auten smiled, saying in a serious tone. "I didn't want to be nosy either. Zeke isn't
easy to take down. I just couldn't help but overhear that you were the master of the
Elysium Gate just now."
As he spoke, Prince Auten paused before he asked
Ambrose, "You must be Darryl Darby's son, if my facts are right."
Ambrose nodded. "That would be correct."
"Well, there we have it."
Prince Auten smiled as he nodded. "I was firm friends with your father back at the Godly
Region. That's why I helped you upon finding out your identity."
So that was the case.
Ambrose let out a breath of relief at the words, letting his guard down immediately. He
exchanged a glance with Heather, unspeakably gleeful.
Wonderful. This was his father's friend, and he wouldn't need to worry about the Godly
Region soldiers with him around.
