Chapter 5625
Whew...
Antigonus was indignant upon sensing Veron's arrogance, but he took a deep breath upon
considering his surroundings and identity.
"I'm only in charge of cleaning the backyard, High Lady. I'm not supposed to be trimming
the lawn."
Veron's brows furrowed at his response as she roared, "Well, I'm telling you to do it! Cut
the crap and get to work! I'm telling you, don't you think highly of yourself at all just
because you're a pupil from another sect, got it?"
Antigonus did not bother arguing with her and picked up the broom to leave.
Veron flared up in rage at the sight. "Hey, are you deaf?
Didn't you hear what I said?"
Just as she was shouting, a charming figure could be seen slowly entering the garden.
Clad in a cream colored dress that hugged her curves, she had stunning features that
would make any man swoon.
It was Circe.
Circe opened her mouth to speak at the sight before her." Veron! What are you yelling
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtfor?"
As she spoke, she cast a glance at Antigonus.
Back at the Falling Zen Temple, Jeca had disappeared mysteriously along with a little over
ten Mouse Sect pupils. It confused Circe greatly, and she guessed that it had something to
do with Antigonus.
Circe had seen Veron order Antigonus around from outside the garden, but she did not
come over to stop them just to see how Antigonus would react.
She had thought that Antigonus would have had a screaming match with Veron, only for
him to appear so calm.
It also made Circe realize that there was no way someone that calm would be a mere
nobody.
Veron's haughty demeanor disappeared at the sight of Circe as she said meekly, "Circe, I
wasn't yelling. I just thought I'd have this pupil trim the grass in front of my room, only for
him to be so rude to me."
As she spoke, she glared ferociously at Antigonus.
Circe nodded, saying softly, "Alright, alright. He's new here, and he doesn't know his way
around. Don't give him a hard time."
As she spoke, she beckoned for Veron to leave. Veron did not dare to retaliate as she
grunted and exited the garden.
Whew!
Just as she left, Antigonus walked over and bowed to Circe. "At your service, High Lady."
His expression was neutral, but he was deep in thought.
Something had to be up if Circe showed up all of a sudden.
Circe nodded, her tone warm. "Doing alright here, Beka?"
Antigonus smiled lightly in response. "Quite alright, thank you!"
Circe pondered briefly before replying, "That's good to hear. You're new here, and you
don't know the grounds well. I thought I'd bring you around seeing as I've got nothing to
do today."
As she spoke, Circe's eyes flashed with an unreadable expression.
Of course, bringing Antigonus around was far from what she was actually doing. There was
a thicket of woods northwest of the garden, and in it were two pet Wind Spirit Wolves.
Circe's test was simple. She would bring Antigonus into the woods and find an excuse to
leave. The wolves were sure to attack at the sight of a stranger entering the woods, and
the man would then show his true powers.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Alright!"
Antigonus was the Archfiend, and he did not have to know what Circe's true intentions
were to guess that there had to be a reason behind her offering to bring him around the
grounds out of nowhere.
Either way, he would just have to see when the time came.
Circe did not waste any words, nodding before leading Antigonus in the direction of the
woods.
Just as they approached, Antigonus immediately sensed a strong beast aura in the woods.
He understood what was going on right away and smiled to himself.
Ah, Miss Lange is trying to test my powers.'
Sensing that, Antigonus did not say anything as he pretended to know nothing at all.
Quickly enough, Circe opened her mouth to speak after they walked in the woods for a
while. "I just remembered that I've got some affairs to attend to. Don't wander around.
Stay here and wait for me."
As the words rang through the air, Circe turned into a small clearing and disappeared from
sight in the blink of an eye. However, she had not gone very far, and was instead hiding
and watching what was going on.
