laughing as if she was mocking Alec for being henpecked.

Alec didn't think that was anything to be ashamed about. Hence, he didn't deny it. "Since

you know it, you shouldn't have come here. If it makes Jenny angry, .xo you can't

ever make up for it, no matter how hard you try."

"Alec, how can you be so heartless? You used to like me," Quinn said, pretending to be

hurt. When he used to like her, he had never protected her like that.

With no regard for what she had to say, Alec said, "You said it yourself.

That was in the past. It's been many years, and it's over."

"Alright, let's not talk about the past. But I really need your help." .xo Quinn stopped

smiling. If Alec didn't help her, she had no other way.

Alec felt a headache coming on. "How do you want me to help you?"

"Help me out with that man. I've been by his side for so many years-l should do something

about him," Quinn said, examining her pretty nails while speaking to Alec.

Alec was speechless. "What do you want to do?"

"Well, I want him to marry me. At this age, I can't continue being with him without getting

married."

Plus, everyone around her was getting married. Even Alec, who she thought would never

marry, was getting married. Hence, it was only natural that she had the desire to get

married.

Finding her words amusing, Alec snorted in disdain. xo "If you want him to marry

you, just tell him directly. There's no need to look for me."

"Perfect. If there's nothing else, don't look for me again. If others see us together, they

might assume we have some kind of relationship,' Alec said, reminding her again.

Although Quinn found his behavior heartless, she also envied Jenny. What an amazing

person must she be to receive such undivided affection from Alec?
