Chapter 246 Growing Unease

“Get lost!”

In the mansion where Liam kept Hailey, his lover, he pushed her away from him,

somewhat irritated. “You can’t even pique my interest,” he said.

For some reason, he spent a long time with Hailey that night, but he just couldn’t muster

Before Hailey could finish her sentence, Liam kicked her off the bed. “It’s because you lack

charm. If it were Bernice, I wouldn’t be like this!”

Hailey clutched her stomach, daring not to say more. With tears in her eyes, she rose to

her feet and walked into the bathroom, phone in hand.

She was about to send a message to Finnegan, asking when he would finally take action

against Liam, and when her nightmare would finally end.

“Why do I feel particularly annoyed tonight? What on earth is going on?” Liam lit a

cigarette.

After taking a few puffs, he grabbed a bath towel and wrapped it around his waist. Then

he dialed Axel’s number and ordered, “Come to my room!”

Soon, Axel arrived in the room. “Mr. Sable, what’s wrong?”

Liam stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray. “I don’t know why, but I’m particularly

Inside the bathroom, Hailey, who had just cleaned herself and wrapped a bath towel

Subconsciously, Axel glanced around and whispered, “Mr. Sable, Finnegan, the Haimowitz

family, the Miles family, and even the Langdon family are all on good terms with each

other. It’s better if you don’t speak of this.”

“Enough with the chatter. We’re all friends here. Spit it out already!” At this moment, Liam

They didn’t lend money to Finnegan to save his sister, and they even called back Shaun

activity.”

Hailey’s expression tightened as she continued to compose a text message in the

bathroom.

But in reality, she had already discovered that the Haimowitz and Miles families, along

with the Langdon family, were secretly planning something. It seemed to be targeted at

Regi Group.

However, her loyalty had already shifted toward Finnegan. She would not reveal the truth

Finnegan is indeed strained. As I expected, Jerome Medical Clinic has already closed down.

The more he thought about it, the more agitated he became. Liam called out, “Hailey!”

After responding, Hailey sent the text message and then tried to make her expression look

natural as she opened the door and stepped out.

Liam sternly asked, “Are you certain that nothing was overlooked in the investigation of

Finnegan?”

Hailey feigned calm. “Yes!”

Finnegan have borrowed eight hundred million or used his own eight hundred million to

protect his sister? Why would he let the police department take his sister away?”

Liam squinted his eyes. “Did you hear everything just now?”

“Rest assured, Mr. Sable, I’m on your side. I won’t go around spreading words.”

After giving Hailey a deep look, Liam asked, “I’ve been treating you poorly these past few

days, even going as far as hitting you. Don’t you resent me?”

“I do!” Hailey bit her red lips, her face unchanging. “But I also know that no matter how

much I hate you, I can’t leave you. Only you can give me glory and wealth. So, even if I

hate you, I’ll endure it and treat you the same!”

As Hailey spoke these words, her heart was filled with extreme tension.

She was somewhat worried that Liam might have noticed something.

Fortunately, Liam didn’t persist. He withdrew his gaze and said, “At least you’re honest,

not hiding your resentment toward me. Otherwise, I would have to doubt whether your

investigation into Finnegan is actually about me-”

“Who is it? Ah!”

Before the sentence could be finished, a stern rebuke accompanied by a scream suddenly

echoed from within the courtyard.

Axel quickly walked to the window.

After a clear look, his complexion slightly changed. “Mr. Sable, we are under attack!”

Liam quickly moved to the window, just in time to witness a bodyguard from the Sable

family being ruthlessly slain.

His heart gave a jolt as he exclaimed, “D*mn! Who’s got such nerve? Let Daniel and his

men kill the intruders, but I want two of them alive. I want to see who’s got the nerves of

steel!”

“Yes!”

As Axel went to make arrangements, Liam also quickly got dressed.

Turning around, he saw Hailey standing there, motionless. “Aren’t you going to get dressed

quickly? Or do you want to run out with your towel falling off for everyone to see?”

“I’ll get dressed right away.”

“Hurry up!”

With a cold huff, Liam quickly left the room and descended the stairs. Axel had already

sent Daniel and seven or eight bodyguards to defend.

Seeing Liam descending the stairs, Axel quickly pulled out a gun to protect him. “Mr.

Sable, you can leave this to Daniel and his team. It’s safer for you to stay in the room!”
