101 Ch. 101 Ling Meng Decided To Die
Anxia was excited, impatient for what she was about to do. In front of her were a laptop and her favorite watermelon juice. She was spirited like a rabbit hopping around chasing butterflies as if she had never been gloomy.
Richard couldn’t stop smiling at his wife’s joy while typing something on his laptop. “It’s done. We have to wait for the other party to let us in.”
Anxia nodded like a student nodding in an understanding of her teacher’s lesson.
“You want me here or....”
“Go inside.” Anxia pushed Richard lightly without letting the man finish his words.
“Are you sure you don’t want me here?” teased Richard, bringing his face closer to his wife’s. Their sudden closeness made Anxia remember she had requested to kiss him, making her want to dig a hole to hide her blushing face.
It’s not like she dislikes Richard’s accompaniment, but she needs privacy with her friends.
What should she do to make Richard leave her alone for now?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Richie, I’ll show you something tonight if you leave now,”
.....
“I believe I have seen all of yours.” his vulgar remark fluttered Anxia as she felt her blood rush to her head. It was not a wave of anger as usual, but she was helpless in handling her perverted husband.
“Not that!”
“Then what? Is it more attractive than you?” Richard whispered right in front of his wife’s earlobe, making Anxia’s breath catch and gasp. His sensual whisper caused her hands, trying to push Richard away, to go limp and powerless.
However, when Anxia heard a ‘ting’ voice from the laptop, Anxia’s common sense returned to her brain. Without thinking or managing her strength, Anxia pushed Richard with all she got and...
Bam!
Richard fell off his chair and was now looking at Anxia in disbelief.
Anxia herself also widened her eyes, not expecting that she would be able to push the man who incidentally had more strength than her. She felt guilty when she saw Richard’s sullen face like a child.
Anxia apologized by tapping her palms together to beg forgiveness and then put on a pitiful face with puppy eyes which could melt Richard Calvin’s heart.
Richard could barely hold his smile to see his wife’s adorable puppy eyes. He stood up and snorted in annoyance like a child while looking away, making Anxia even more guilty. Anxia didn’t know an amused smile was plastered on Richard’s lips.
Even though he was holding back his giggles, Richard winced in pain while stroking his buttocks.
Hhhh... How could he fall in love with a robust woman like Anxia?
Richard closed the balcony door to give his wife privacy, then walked towards the bed to see his daughter, who was still fast asleep like a sleeping beauty princess.
He would be bored if he had to wait for his daughter to wake up and his wife was still talking to her friends.
He could have left the room and headed for his study room, but he didn’t want to run into any uninvited guests. In the end, he decided to open a website about the games from Kendrich’s company to learn about each character.
On the other side, Anxia immediately opened the box window on the laptop screen. As soon as it was connected, a woman appeared with her head wrapped in bandages leaving only her eyes, nose, and mouth. The edges of the woman’s lips were swollen with a light blue color, making Anxia feel heartache.
She could barely see the woman’s face because a white cloth covered her head. But she could see the light in her eyes, and he knew right away the woman on the screen was Ling Meng, her dear friend.
“Meng Meng, what had master Yu done to you?”
Ling Meng smiled slightly, hearing her friend’s heartbreaking tone. She wished she could smile widely and cheerfully as she didn’t want to make Anxia worry any more than this. She wanted to say she was fine, but... even only to smile, her mouth felt like it was on fire, especially if she had to speak.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNothing in her body was uninjured, and it hurt like hell. Not only her psychical but her mind and heart were screaming in pain. Fortunately, she had taken some painkillers before to hang on.
“You know, my punishment is still relatively light. Do you remember what happened to Hua Hua when he lied to Master? His tongue was cut, and since then, he has not been able to speak. At least I didn’t lose my limbs. I was just beaten to death, and I’m recovering slowly. Nothing to worry about.”
How could Anxia not be worried? She was so concerned that she had the urge to kill her husband because he hid the fact that master Yu had captured Ling Meng.
Ling Meng was a dear friend and an elder sister to Anxia. There was no way Anxia wouldn’t be worried about her.
“Rather than that, Qiao Qiao, do you know where I am?” there was a hint of excitement in her tone, despite her poor state.
“Where are you?” Anxia already knew the answer but didn’t want to ruin her friend’s fun and acted oblivious.
“At Cerberus base! Can you believe that? I’ve been looking for the whereabouts of the legendary Cerberus in vain, and tada... I’m inside their main base! Now I didn’t mind Master Yu seizing me. I should’ve allowed myself to be beaten up much earlier if I’d known the Cerberus would save me.”
Anxia chuckled while shaking her head, hearing a long talk that was barely audible because of her swollen lips.
But, at least Anxia felt relieved because her best friend looked fine and at peace. If Ling Meng could still talk at length like this, Anxia had nothing to worry about.
Little did she know, Richard and Ling Meng kept an unknown secret hidden from her. In reality, a ‘nothing to worry about’ phrase was beyond Anxia’s expectations.
“Qiao Qiao, I have something to talk about.”
“Hmm. Just say it.”
“I decided to die.”
