Chapter 163
The document clearly stated everything about the Radbury Group. From the shares to the chain of inheritance... everything! In
other words, even if one day she really parted ways with Damien, she would not be able to get any of the Radbury family’s
money. That was within expectations. The Radbury Group’s assets had nothing to do with her ever since the beginning. Karen
was just here to make her sign this document. She wanted to prevent Ava from scheming after her money. So, it seemed like
Ava had misunderstood Karen. Ava picked up the gel pen on Damien’s desk. Just as she was about to sign and give Karen an
explanation, her cell phone suddenly rang. “Madam, this is Dempsey.” Dempsey’s voice sounded very anxious from the other
side. She had always been a calm and composed person, so it was rare for her to be in such a state of panic. Hence, Ava’s heart
dropped when she got a call from Dempsey at this hour. Something bad must have happened!
As expected, Dempsey took a deep breath and continued, “We encountered a car accident on our way to the factory. Both the
CEO and Mr. Oakley are injured...”
“What?”
Ava didn’t waste anymore time and ran out of the office without hesitation.
Why would an accident happen out of nowhere? She got the address of the hospital from Dempsey and immediately hailed a
taxi. Along the way, her heart was beating so rapidly as if it was going to pop out of her body anytime! “Damien Radbury, you
have to be okay...”Ava thought to herself. She then checked her phone and saw that Damien had texted her! He said he would
come back late today. But at the time, she must have been too busy handling Karen that she didn’t even notice. If something bad
really happened to him... Ava did not dare to even think about the consequences! When she got out of the car, she was in such
a rush that she almost stumbled her way into the emergency room. Dempsey told her that they were in the emergency
department, but she didn’t specify which room. Hence, Ava could only ask the nurse, “Is there a man who has just been admitted
due to a car accident?”
The nurse answered impatiently, “There are dozens of people who are admitted everyday due to car accidents! How am I

supposed to know who you are looking for?”
“He’s tall, handsome, and he’s...very rich!”
As soon as she mentioned handsome, the nurse immediately remembered something and pointed upstairs. “Are you talking
about the one who was just sent to the VIP area? He’s in the innermost
ward on the right side of the third floor.”
Ava then rushed upstairs. She did not even want to wait for the lift and took the stairs instead. Soon, the sound of a man
groaning in pain could be heard from the ward. She quickly ran in and said, “Damien!” However, it was Selden on the bed, not
Damien! Selden’s head and his shoulder were injured and the doctor was bandaging his wounds. He lay on the bed shirtless at
this point. “Be gentle! Don’t use too much strength if you haven’t applied the anesthetic!” Selden said to the doctor as he tried to

endure the pain.
Ava stood at the door in a daze. Seeing that he was seriously injured, she hurriedly asked, “Are you all right? How did you get
into such a mess?”
As soon as Selden saw her, he took a deep breath and forced a smile, “I’m okay. It’s just...it’s just flesh wounds. It’s all external
shh...”
Seeing him like this, Ava could only imagine how painful it was, but he was still smiling! “How did the accident happen? Is
Damien...”
Just as Ava was about to ask about Damien, Selden suddenly grabbed her hand and smiled. “You’re sweating so much! Don’t
tell me you’re that worried about me?” “Stop talking nonsense!”
She looked at Selden’s wound. To be frank, she didn’t know how deep the wound on his head was, but there was a large wound
on his shoulder and back. Even the shirt he wore seemed to be soaked in blood. So, it was obviously more than just external
injuries!
Ava suddenly noticed a scar under the wound on his back near the lower side. It was clear that he had been seriously injured
before. Looking at the scar, she felt a slight pain in her head, as if the wound was familiar to her. “Your scar...” Selden said in a
casual manner, “You don’t remember, do you? I blocked a knife for you.”

“A knife?”
“Yes, I almost died back then. Ava, I saved your life.”

Her head started to hurt even more.
It seemed like Selden had saved her many times before! Seeing her pale face, Selden comforted her and said, “I’m fine, really. I
used to be a doctor. I know how minor these injuries are.” “Are you really okay?” “Yes, I’m fine...hiss...Doctor, please be gentler!”
“What about Damien?” Ava hurriedly asked him again. As soon as her question was out of her mouth, a cold voice sounded from
behind. “Seems like you actually still remember me.” Then, Ava turned around and saw Damien standing at the door of the ward.
His face was as dark as
the gloomy night. She quickly walked over and took a good look at Damien’s entire body. “Are you hurt? Is it serious? You...”
Next, Damien reached out his hand. It was wrapped in bandages, but apart from that, he was fine. Dempsey had said on the
phone that he had a serious car accident, but he only injured the back of his hand!
At this time, Selden was already done with his bandages and was laying on the bed limply. Then, he sneered at Damien and
said, “Ava, don’t worry. He’s fine. If you came a little later, his wound would’ve already been healed.”
At that, Damien’s face darkened even more. Selden was having his wound treated while he was shirtless. However, Ava just
stood there and chatted with him like it was no big deal. Then, he pulled Ava to his side and covered her eyes with his uninjured
hand. “What are you doing? Apart from your hand, are you hurt anywhere else? Why was there suddenly a car accident?” Ava

continued to ask him. He stared coldly at Selden then dragged Ava out of the ward. Finally, he removed his hand from her eyes.
In the walkway outside the ward, Kelly stood there with an awkward look. “Miss Hensley? Why aren’t you going in?” Ava was
surprised. “I saw that you guys were chatting and I didn’t want to disturb you two.” Kelly was still dressed in a traditional costume.
It was obvious that she was wearing it for her movie shoot!
So, it seemed like she’d heard that Selden was involved in a car accident and rushed over from the shoot. Plus, she didn’t even
have time to change her clothes! “Selden is fine, and his injuries aren’t particularly serious. You’d better go in and see him.” Ava
said to her.
She nodded and hurried into the ward. Damien then pulled Ava out.
“What’s wrong with you? Why are you upset?” She looked at Damien who was putting up a harsh face all the while.
He looked at her with a strange expression and said, “When will you care about me like how Kelly cares about Selden?”
“Am I not worried about you now? I heard that you got into a car accident and rushed here immediately. Even...” “Even what?”
“Nothing.” Ava did not tell him that Karen had come to see her as she didn’t want him to be any more upset than he already was.
