Chapter 669 Silent Just as Chloe and Candy were nearing the door, the man's loud comment reached Candy's ears. She cto an abrupt halt; her brow furrowed so deeply it seemed like she could crush a fly with it.

Chloe noticed Candy's reaction and gently tugged at her sleeve. "Candy, let's go!" She didn't want Candy to confront the man again. After all, it wasn't worth it, and she knew that if Candy pressed further, it would be impossible to keep the truth about the medication under wraps.

Candy closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

She thought, "There are just too many idiots out there. I shouldn't let them get to me." But the man wasn't done. Even after sitting back down, he continued bad-mouthing Chloe. "She must has slept with many men. Otherwise, how could she get such a dirty disease? Looks good on the outside, but she's nothing but trash!" The instant Candy heard that, she lost it.

Without a second thought, she marched back to the man, grabbing an empty wine bottle from the table and glaring at him. "You say that one more time! Don't you know that spreading lies is a crime!" The whole table was startled by her sudden outburst, but it didn't take long for them to regain their composure. "What's your problem? Your friend has AIDS. You're her friend, so who knows if you've got it too? Get lost, you're filthy!" The mention of AIDS was like a red rag to a bull for Candy. She was fuming and slammed the bottle down on the table. "You better say that again!" She thought, "They're the ones who started harassing us, and when that didn't work, they just started spreading lies? They should look at themselves if they want to talk about diseases!" As the commotion grew louder, a waiter rushed over to intervene, first trying to take the bottle from Candy's hand. "Ma'am, calm down, let's not make things worse." Chloe was also startled and said, "Candy, let's just go. I'm fine, really. Let's leave." "What do you mean, 'let's go'? Why should we let them get away with saying that about you?" Candy was enraged.

Chloe frowned, unsure of what to do next.

The man from the table said, "I'm not wrong. Your friend's bag had et medication for AIDS. If you don't believe me, go check it yourself. Why are you so worked up?" The men at the table weren't particularly afraid of Candy and Chloe.

But the mention of AIDS and the potential risk of exposure to blood was enough to make anyone wary. No one wanted to risk their health over a meal.

Seeing the situation escalating, the men decided to cut their losses and leave.

Candy, still seething, yelled after them, "You're full of crap! I bet it's your own bags with the AIDS medication. What's with all the lies? Do you think you can get away with this?" Her frustration seemed to be building up, and she was losing control. Perhaps it was Chloe's unusual behavior earlier that had her on edge.

The men, finding the two women increasingly erratic, hurriedly settled their bill and left with a mix of grumbling and relief.

As the waitstaff finally managed to grip, wrest the bottle from Candy's grip, one of them said WX Candy's "Ma am; this is too dangerous. You really should put it down." Candy shot a fierce glare at the waiter but eventually let go of the bottle.

Throughout the whole argument, Chloe had remained almost eerily silent, standing off to the side with an anxious look, as if wanting to step in but unsure how. Outside the restaurant, Candy

continued to vent, saying, "Chloe do you think that guy was the one with issues? I swear he's the one who probably has AIDS. His whole table must have it!" Candy had clashed with others before, and Chloe usually offered her sympathetic, albeit resigned support.

But this time, Chloe's silence was unsettling, almost as if something was deeply troubling her.
