Lucas opened the car door and sat down, his presence icy.

"Did you splash her?" His dark gaze fell on Aveline's face.

Aveline looked at him. "I want to splash you too." Lucas's expression darkened. "You wouldn't dare!"

Aveline picked up the water bottle and started to unscrew it, fearless now. Lucas quickly grasped her wrist, leaning in as if to kiss her.
