Am I seeing things? Dustin actually chose a pony?” “He’s not thinking of racing against a Thoroughbred
like Midnight Shadow with this short-legged pony, right?”
“Oh my God! What is this guy even thinking? Is he out of his mind?” Everyone watched in shock as
Dustin brought out the pony. As the name implied, a pony was a small and docile horse. They were
specifically for the children or the elderly to ride.
They had short and stumpy limbs and were shorter than three feet. They were primarily used for
recreational activities.
Meanwhile, Midnight Shadow stood at a towering 5 feet. It had long, muscular limbs, a well-
proportioned physique, and ran like the wind. It outclassed the pony in every aspect.
With the two horses standing together, it was like comparing a fully grown adult to a three-year-old
child. There was no point in comparing them since it was clear who was the winner just looking at their
size alone.
“Hey, you! Are you here to make a fool of yourself? Are you going to race against me with that pony?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtRoxanne mocked boldly.
She’d never seen such a foolish man in her life. Even the top-grade horses couldn’t compare to
Midnight Shadow, let alone a low-grade horse like this pony.
“Where did you get the courage to challenge someone to a race when you can’t even choose a proper
horse? What an idiot!” Elena laughed heartily. Who in their right mind would choose a pony? They were
putting themselves at a huge disadvantage!
“Hey! Are you crazy? This is a horse for children. “Why did you choose it? Are you going for a joyride?”
Vivian said in annoyance.
“I thought you had skills, but it turns out you know nothing. What an attention seeker!” Evan looked at
Dustin like he was an idiot.
“Please, just admit defeat. I beg you. You might not think it’s embarrassing, but we feel embarrassed
for you!” The others looked at Dustin in disdain.
A race between a pony and a Thoroughbred wasn’t a competition; it was utter humiliation. Anyone with
a little common sense would never attempt such a thing. “Mr. Kugler, did you mislead him on purpose?”
Sheila frowned.
“We have many fine purebred horses in the stable, yet you chose this horse for Dustin? What do you
mean by this?”
“Ms. Sheila, it wasn’t me.” Kugler, the stable manager, defended. “I introduced plenty of fine horses to
this gentleman, but he didn’t like any of them and insisted on this one. There was nothing I could do.”
When Dustin chose the pony, he was shocked. He tried to advise against it, but sadly, Dustin didn’t
listen. “Dustin, did you make a mistake?” Sheila asked, looking puzzled.
“This pony is weak and has short legs. It can’t run fast. It’s considered a low- grade horse. Why don’t
you return to the stable and choose another one?”
“No need, this horse will do.” Dustin patted the pony’s head, looking satisfied. “But you won’t be able to
defeat Midnight Shadow with it.” Sheila was concerned.
If he had chosen a better horse, he would have had a chance of winning. But he would definitely lose if
he raced with this pony.
“Don’t worry, I’ll win.” Dustin smiled faintly, looking confident. “You’re trying to win against Midnight
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShadow with this low-grade horse? Have you lost your mind?” Roxanne mocked.
“Dustin, you’d better think this through. You’ll need to pay ten million if you lose. “Don’t make Sheila
bear the cost for your stubbornness,” Jayden warned coldly.
He had thought Dustin was highly skilled, but it turned out that he was just a fool. “If I lose, I’ll cover the
costs myself. There’s no need for Sheila to pay,” Dustin said bluntly.
“Hmph! You’re just an insurance agent; where would you get the money? “Elena questioned. “That’s
right! Don’t try to show off when you don’t have the money. It’s embarrassing!” Vivian chimed in.
“Ten million is not a small amount. It’s an amount someone like you probably won’t earn in your
lifetime.” Evan sneered in contempt. “Hey! You’re not trying to take advantage of the situation, right?”
Many of them began to doubt Dustin.
Everyone was aware of Sheila’s kind- hearted nature. If Dustin couldn’t pay up after losing, she would
surely step in to bear the cost. If Dustin won, he would get a valuable horse for free. He wouldn’t even
have to pay a thing if he lost. What a cunning man.
“If he doesn’t have the money, I’ll cover it for him,” Dahlia, who had been observing quietly the entire
time, suddenly spoke up.
