“Come on, come on! Keep up!
“Pick up the pace! Come on, faster!” As Roxanne rode Midnight Shadow, she paused frequently,
looking back to taunt Dustin. She didn’t take Dustin seriously at all and began fooling around.
When she got bored, she even circled the pony. This frightened the pony, causing it to run even slower.
“Is this even a race? It’s like she’s taking her dog out for a walk!”
“Exactly! He’s so calm even when Roxanne is toying with him. It’s embarrassing!” Roxanne’s friends
openly mocked the situation. “He openly challenged Roxanne without a good horse and riding skills?
What an ignorant fool!” Vivian said scornfully.
“What a clown. If this useless trash wins, I’ll eat a load of shit!” Evan scoffed. “He’s a grown man being
humiliated by a woman. If I were him, I’d find myself a hole to hide in. It’s so embarrassing!” Elena
mocked.

satisfying form of revenge on her behalf.
“Ms. Nicholson, you shouldn’t have sympathized with a hopeless guy like him,” Jayden said
sarcastically. “It’s just ten million. I’ll consider it paid entertainment,” Dahlia said stoically.
“Well, I guess.” Jayden shrugged. He cleared his throat and shouted, ” Roxanne, stop playing around.
It’s not fun anymore. Let’s end this soon.”
“Alright!” Roxanne responded before turning to look at Dustin. “Hey, you! I’m done playing with you!
You just take your precious time!”
With that, she urged Midnight Shadow forward and galloped straight for the finish line. Dustin
maintained a leisurely pace throughout. It was as if he was not part of a race. When everyone thought
the winner was decided, Midnight Shadow suddenly released a loud neigh and reared up on its hind
legs.
Roxanne, who had been overconfident, was thrown to the ground. She ended up covered in dirt. “What
happened? Did she make a mistake?”
The sudden turn of events took everyone by surprise. No one expected Roxanne to encounter an
accident so close to the finish line.
“Midnight Shadow! What’s wrong with you? Why did you suddenly stop?” Roxanne struggled to get up,
looking in pain and annoyed.
It caught her off guard when Midnight Shadow suddenly came to a stop. She wasn’t even holding the
reins earlier. Luckily, she didn’t fall too badly. She could still get back on her feet and continue. “Oops!
Took a tumble? How careless of you,” said Dustin as he approached her leisurely on his pony.
“Hmph! So what if I fell? I can still defeat you,” Roxanne retorted, glaring at him. She immediately
mounted her horse.
“Is that so? Well then, good luck,” Dustin replied with a smile. He continued riding his horse at a

“Midnight Shadow! Charge!” Roxanne shouted and squeezed forcefully with her legs. She attempted to
pull ahead of Dustin to win the race in one final effort.
However, her command was ignored. Midnight Shadow stood still, nervously pawing at the ground. It
was unwilling to move forward like a dangerous beast was before it.
“Midnight Shadow! Charge! Charge!” Seeing Dustin slowly overtake her, Roxanne grew frantic. She
kicked and urged the horse forward, but Midnight Shadow remained still.
“Hey! Move!” Roxanne was furious. She took out her whip and started whipping Midnight Shadow hard.
Each forceful strike left Midnight Shadow neighing in pain, but it still refused to move forward.
Under the crowd’s bewildered and disbelieving eyes, Dustin rode his pony. Calmly and leisurely, he
crossed the finish line. He had hardly run the entire race, securing an easy victory.
