“Mr. Murray! Mr. Murray, wake up!”
The loud shout suddenly interrupted Sheila’s thoughts. She turned quickly to see Jayden, who was
unconscious.
“Jayden!” Sheila rushed to check on him. Dustin had punched Jayden hard in the stomach. It left him
barely breathing and on the brink of death.
“That Dustin went way too far, injuring Jayden like this,” Vivian fumed. “I wish that guy hadn’t run off so
quickly. Or I’d have beaten him to death,” Evan grumbled. Though they couldn’t beat him in a fight, they
were seething in anger.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Quick, let’s get him to the hospital!” Sheila called for help, and they quickly got Jayden into a car,
racing to East Swinton Hospital.
Soon, the doctors began to treat Jayden’s injury. It wasn’t until late at night that Jayden was finally out
of danger. Luckily, Dustin had held back to avoid causing fatal harm.
In the ICU, Jayden lay unconscious. He looked as pale as a ghost. Caden and the others stood vigil at
his side.
The past few days had been tumultuous for the Murray family. First, Roxanne was injured by a horse.
Caden ended up in the hospital, and now Jayden was in critical condition. What worried them the most
was that all these incidents seemed connected to Dustin.
“How’s Jayden doing?” Edgar rushed into the ward, looking disheveled. He’d been busy all day and
had just heard about his son.
“Edgar, don’t worry too much. Jayden is now in stable condition,” Caden reassured him.
“Who would dare attack my son?” Edgar fumed. As the head of the Murray family, he was nearly
untouchable in Millsburg. He wondered who would be bold enough to attack his son.
“It’s Dustin,” Caden said firmly. “That punk has no respect. He attacked Jayden and caused serious
harm. It’s clear he has no regard for our family.”
“Dustin?” Edgar’s face darkened. “That scoundrel! He harmed Roxanne before, and now he’s hurt my
son. I’ll make sure he pays dearly!”

“Edgar, please, let’s not make a scene. We need to be cautious,” Caden advised with a serious tone.
“What do you mean? Do you want me to act like nothing happened to my kids?” Edgar was furious.
“Don’t get me wrong. I’m thinking about what’s best for you,” Caden said firmly. He added, “Remember,
it’s Father’s birthday tomorrow. We don’t need a big celebration, but guests will come and go. If we
create a ruckus, it will damage the family’s reputation and upset him.”
Edgar furrowed his brow. While he wanted to confront Dustin, he realized that causing a commotion on
the eve of their father’s birthday was inappropriate.
“Caden, after everything that’s happened, do you have any suggestions?” Edgar asked.
“Let’s tap into the resources of the Murray family. We’re sure to attract attention, so I propose we seek
help from the Martial Arts Alliance. They have skilled people, and with the right money, we can handle
Dustin. It’s a practical plan,” Caden suggested.
“You’re right. I almost forgot about that,” Edgar said, his anger fading.
