An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1346
“Caitlyn’s here with me as well,” Maximus replied. “After Mr. Jones left, Caitlyn’s quite lonely at home.
That’s why I brought her along for a little adventure.
“We haven’t been to Oakvale. We heard it was a great place and wanted to see it for ourselves.”
“Oakvale may be a great place, but it also has its dark sides. You wouldn’t even know it if someone
sold you out,” Dustin said helplessly.
“That’s why we have you, Dustin. We have nothing to be afraid of.” Maximus laughed heartily.
“That’s enough. Stop flattering me. Where are you now?” Dustin asked. “Oh, we just got off the train.
We’re at the south station,” Maximus replied.
“Wait there. I’m coming to get you.”
After the call ended, Dustin asked the driver to turn around and headed. straight to the south station.

“Dustin! Over here!”
Dustin saw Maximus and Caitlyn waving happily to him as soon as he exited the car. They had a lot of
luggage with them. Looking at them, they looked like they were moving here instead of coming for a
short visit.
“Why did you bring so many things?” Dustin walked toward them, looking helpless. “It doesn’t hurt to be
prepared. We’ll use it anyway,” Maximus said with a toothy grin. It was their first time in Oakvale. They
prepared extra as they got a little too excited.
“It’s fine. Let’s find a place for you to stay, and we’ll get something to eat after that.”
Dustin reached out to take Caitlyn’s luggage from her, but she shook her head and refused. “Mr. Rhys,
you’re of a higher social rank. Please let me do the laborious work.”
As she said that, she hobbled toward the car with the luggage behind her. She’d refuse help even
though she was utterly exhausted.
Dustin was helpless. The girl hadn’t changed a bit. She was used to living a difficult life. She’d feel
uncomfortable if she had nothing to do.
With both of them in tow, Dustin headed back to the hotel. It was a five- star hotel in Oakvale, which
wasn’t too luxurious. Nevertheless, it was expensive.
Caitlyn looked around in awe as they walked into the hotel. She immediately lowered her head self-
consciously and hid her face with a bag when a stranger looked at her.
“Mr. Rhys, how much does staying here for one night cost?” Caitlyn asked Dustin timidly when he was
going through the check-in procedures.
“We’re in the city’s prime location. A basic room will cost around two thousand for a night’s stay,” Dustin
replied casually.
“What? That’s very expensive!” Caitlyn was stunned and froze on the spot. She had never made two

spending so much money just to stay for one night.
“Caitlyn, don’t feel bad. Money is the last thing on Dustin’s mind. You just make yourself comfortable.”
Maximus smiled.
“No… No, it’s too expensive!” Caitlyn shook her head immediately.
“Mr. Rhys, this place is not for me. I’m not staying here. I’ll find a cheaper alternative in the city.” As she
said that, she quickly ran out of the hotel with all her luggage.
She left so franticly that it looked like she was fleeing a wild beast. Dustin and Maximus looked at each
other helplessly. They were speechless and found it amusing.
As much as they felt helpless, they could also feel their heart aching for Caitlyn.
Caitlyn had been through countless hardships and dark moments in life to the extent that she was
afraid to embrace life’s good things.
