With a cold expression on his face, Frederick took a look at Carson and he knew he wanted to tell him something. "Okay!" However, his heart dropped on the inside. Was there something wrong with Alicia's health? Before going out, Frederick leaned over to cover her up. "Be obedient, don't run around!" With a cold snort, Alicia turned over and showed him her back.

He was agitated by the action and felt a jolt of anger. This woman was impossible! Still, he left and shut the door.

He sent Carson downstairs. Carson spoke before leaving, "Does she have a habit of self-abuse?" Generally, women with self-abuse habits had smental problems! He remembered seeing her in a state of frenzy when he first walked in. Afterward, she was chattering all the way, giving him the impression that she was quite optimistic. People who were positive seldom self-abuse, thus he was confused.

He spoke doubtfully but with a slightly affirmative tone. Frederick was startled. "What did you say?" Self-abuse? How could it be possible? If such a heartless woman self- abused, would there be anyone in the world who hadn't? "The scar on her leg just formed a scab and it should be a recent injury, definitely not for more than a month. Judging from the direction and depth of the wound, I thought she stabbed herself!" "Are you saying that she caused the wounds on her leg herself?" Frederick could not believe his ears. He noticed those wounds when he changed her clothes the night before. There were also traces of stitches but her mental condition was unstable and they had not talked properly, therefore he did not have the chance to ask her. Those scars looked recent and they appeared in the twhen he had not chome. He had never seen them before! Her skin was smooth and delicate without any blemishes. He would not forget those apparent scars! Nodding, Carson spoke.

"It should be! The wound is shallow at the top and deep at the bottom, and it's on the thigh. Judging from the direction of the wound, she stabbed herself before pulling it upwards. If it was by someone else, it could only be done if she was hung upside down in mid-air." He gestured and demonstrated the action as he spoke.

"Thus, there is an eighty percent chance that she stabbed her thigh with a sharp object! That's why the wound looks like that, it's deeper the nearer it is to her knee." Her appearance and body were precious to her. She would follow strict diets even if she had only gained a tiny bit of weight. She was that close to starving for the whole day just to manage her body. Why would she wound herself? Didn't she just ask whether her skin would be left with scars? What happened to her during those days? Frederick answered after pondering, "I got it. Are there any other problems with her body?" "At the moment, she's fine! But, pay more attention to her mental state and how she's feeling. The mental trauma on women is usually larger than physical harm in this situation." "Okay, I understand!" After walking Carson out, Frederick brought breakfast upstairs.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw her bundled up in the quilt again. Gently tugging at the corner of his mouth, he walked over with a carton of milk and sbread rolls.

"My sick sweetheart in bed, would you like sfood? If you end up starving yourself—" He would not be responsible for it.

Before he finished speaking, Alicia already sat up and snatched the food from him. She grabbed it and took a huge bite. The food looked dry and unappetizing but she ate it all the same, not a word or look of complaint. His heart throbbed in pain. "Drink smilk too, don't choke yourself!" Why did she look so delicate but gave a feeling that she would eat just anything and was very easy to be satisfied? She was obviously angry with him but she would not let her body suffer. Why would she harm herself? Seeing that she was willing to eat, Frederick felt relieved. He went to get her ssoup and brought a couple more bread rolls. "Eat a little first, we can order anything you want in the afternoon!" Alicia gave him no attention. She had not eaten since the previous night and went through a lot, hence she was terribly starving.

As she ate, Frederick turned around and passed her the medicine with a glass of water.

Finishing the food in just a few bites, she took two huge gulps of water and felt rejuvenated. She did not even need a reminder and took the tablets.

He had an inexplicable gaze as he fixed his eyes on her.

After a hearty meal, Alicia blinked and laid back on the bed. If he would not sign the divorce papers, would she have to bear with him for the rest of her life? Alas! She could not win against him! She did not know if it was the effect of the medicine or if she was too full, she felt a wave of fatigue and slowly closed her eyes.

Returning to the bed, Frederick sat there blankly for a long time.

After a while, he remembered something. He lifted up the quilt and raised one corner of her nightdress. He saw the wound; it was exactly as Carson had described! It was a stab wound. Why would she hurt herself for no reason? Did something happen? Did she do it subconsciously out of discomfort? When did it happen? How long had he not returned hbefore this? All these questions filled his mind, leaving him in deep thought for the rest of the day.

His phone rang in a sudden and he rejected the call by reflex. Alicia was disturbed by the noise and mumbled with her brows knitted.

Looking at her, he quickly set his phone on vibrate mode.

Danica? The sheet on the bed rustled. "A*shole! I want divorce agreement! Give it to me!" "Don't touch me-" She was scolding him in his sleep. She must really hate him to the extrthis time! He grasped her hand and gave it a tight squeeze. "We won't get a divorce!" Never! He spoke softly, unsure if Alicia had heard him. Then, she frowned even more but surprisingly calmed down later on.

Toying with her slender fingers, he also seemed to relax.

Danica called again. As his phone kept buzzing, he got up, wanting to take the call. However he noticed that Alicia was holding onto his hand. He paused and sat back onto the side of the bed, pressing the reject button and sent a message. "Busy and inconvenient. Call you later!" On the other end, Danica was puzzled as she held the phone. Wasn't it a Saturday?

Alicia slept deeply and peacefully.

Looking at the tiny hand on his palm, Frederick sat like that for more than an hour, happiness bubbling inside him.

When he cback to his senses, she had let go of his hand and his phone started buzzing again. He got E up and walked toward the door. "Danica-" At that moment, Alicia opened her eyes groggily...
