Lindsay said casually while cleaning up the empty plates.
"Who did you hear it from? Is it true?" It was obvious that the east side was developing faster than the west side of Casterwich City throughout these years, and the south side was more powerful than the north side. Wasn't it too risky to invest so much in it? Could it be skind of scheme? "Last twhen I was out for a meal, I overheard a man talking about it on the phone. I don't think it's fake! I think he was Mr. Johnson from the Linke Real Estate Group! He was trying to find out more about the bidders! I even asked him more about it. It will be happening quite soon, probably starting officially next month or so! The project proposal should be under examination now, I think it's fine to invest! If two major companies are interested in this project, I bet it shouldn't be any problem, that's why I'm just asking you in case you're interested! I heard that it requires a few billion! I even saw Frederick having a meal with the head of the bank that day, though I'm not sure whether they were meeting because of this..." Lindsay smiled as she revealed most of the information she had.
"Jeremy, are there any major projects in your company recently? You can really consider this! Even if you're not interested, I think it's not a bad idea to stir things up for Frederick! Didn't you say that he might be involved in the issue last time? He was the one who made you lose so much... and now you're so busy because of him! You've even lost sweight!" Lindsay stopped talking as she saw that he was deep in his thoughts.

I've been a bit bored lately and have been reading too many ; my imagination went a bit wild! I'I do scleaning now!" Lindsay got up and gave him sspace to consider. She believed that no matter what he decided, he wouldn't opt to let Frederick have a good time! After all, this was a golden opportunity to get back at him fair and square! It was another beautiful day.
Alicia tidied up her things as the bell signaling the end of work rang. She opened her drawer and took out ssnacks. She developed this habit at Soaver international. As there weren't any snacks in the office, she kept sin her drawer.
She moved around to relax her muscles and looked at the calendar notes. Alicia squinted slightly while eating salmonds. Her gaze suddenly fell on a brand new document courier envelope. Alicia took it and saw that it was confidentially sealed, however, there was no postage bill on it. Only a printed note was attached to it. Her nwas on it.
"Who sent this? Why is it packed so mysteriously?" She opened it since she was bored. The envelope contained only a piece of paper with swords printed on it. "We have drugged your father. If you want to save him, bring Soaver International's A3 west city project proposal to us in exchange for the antidote! You have seven days and you will be ignored after that! If you don't believe us, go and check your father's left arm, and you'll find that there's already a dark black line on it. I will contact you again soon. Burn this letter after reading it. If you leak this information out, your father will die immediately! Guess who will the next one be? Careful, we have spies around you!" Who the heck was this from? Who gave her this? Alicia couldn't believe her eyes. She looked at it over and over again. Her hands started to tremble slightly. She quickly rolled up the letter but she didn't dare to throw it away. She looked at the envelope a few times.
It was a normal document courier envelope. There was nothing else on it besides a tag from the supermarket! Her nwas printed on it, and it was obvious that the person who sent this was cautious not to be found out! She got up, shut down her computer, and went to the guards at the door to ask them for information, then, she went to check the surveillance cameras.
She found out the envelope was slotted between the newspapers that were ordered by the company, and the delivery man sent them straight to the guards. After investigating, Alicia's back was covered with a layer of cold sweat.
This person definitely cprepared! Moreover, they understood her very well. Not only did that person know her name, but they also knew her relationship with Frederick and even her relationship with her family. No, they probably knew even more. They also knew Frederick's interest in the west city A3 project very well. However, the auction hasn't started officially yet.
Who was behind this? Was it Soaver International's opponent? Alicia's mind was filled with thoughts. She didn't even drive her car, instead, she took a cab straight to Lavender Garden.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAfter talking to her mom for a short while, she went to the room to see her dad and asked, "Dad, how have you been doing recently? Do you feel unwell anywhere?" "I've been pretty good! I feel like I'm getting better every day. Soon, I should be able to stand up! It's just that I get cold easily, and it hurts more at night! I'm already very grateful to be able to see you guys, so this pain isn't an issue! Ally, don't worry about me, take good care of yourself! I still want to walk you down the wedding aisle! When that tcomes, we must take a family portrait!" Alicia held her Dad's hand tightly.
"Sure! Rest well, Dad. You must tellif you are feeling unwell! I'll be waiting for you! When I was young, you would always carry me. When I got older, you would always hold my hand. Dad, your hand is the warmest. When I get married later, you have to be to one to giveyour blessings!" Alicia caressed his hands gently, and when she turned his hand slowly, a vague black line could be seen and it pierced her eyes like a thorn.
"Dad, letwipe your hands for you! We will have to eat soon!" She turned around and quickly went to the bathroom. She tried to suppress the tears that welled up in her eyes as she dampened a towel and kept telling herself that it couldn't be true.
After trying hard to calm herself
down, she wiped her father's hand vigorously. She even brought over a basin of water with ssoap. No matter how she rubbed the black line on her father's hand wouldn't go away. She was afraid that her father would suspect something was wrong, hence she didn't dare to try too hard. She quickly wiped his hand and tidied up everything. When she went back to the toilet, her heart was thumping wildly all over the place. How did it cto this?
Frederick called her and she wasn't in the mood to have food in Lavender Garden either. Before she left, she brought her mom to the nto the side and asked her about things that had happened at hlately. "Mom, did dad eat anything unusual these days? Did you find anything strange at home? Were there any strangers, or perhaps helpers or nurses who cto see dad? Is dad feeling unwell recently?" She asked. "Nope! I've been together with your dad every single day! He has a habit of only eating the food I make! Since I have the time, I've been preparing food for both of us every day! What's wrong, why did you suddenly ask about this?" é
"It's nothing! You know that I'm worried about dad's health, don't you? I just thought that if there are any issues or inconveniences it's better to solve them earlier!" Alicia replied. Since everything was done by her mother, what could have gone wrong? Alicia took the opportunity to check her mother's hands too, but she couldn't find anything strange.
