Kelly's POV

He looked atas he sat on the floor with parted lips. We're both soaking wet and | could feel the cold wind

penetrating through the sleepwear I'm wearing. | caressed my wet hair and hugged my body as i pulled myself

up.

Klay pulled himself up too and grabbed my arm, stoppingwhen | attempted to leave.

His eyes were full of hope and he's smiling like an idiot. "You....you saved me..."

Anger crept in my heart.

"You saved me, Kelly. You still love me-"

| slapped him so hard as my tears rolled down my cheeks continuously. | can't believe him. He did that

purposely? He knew that I can't stand seeing someone die before my eyes, so he used this schso I'd save

him? So he can find a way to justify what he's trying to believe?

He looked atwith parted lips. His eyes were softly staring as | continued shedding tears.

"You can manipulateover and over again but you can never win my heart," | said with a hint of disgust and

hatred.

"K-Kelly..." He was still drunk but it seems my words sobered him up.

"| hate you so much but | can't let you die before my eyes because I'm not as evil as you. And that's one of the

reasons why | can't bring myself to forgive you. | am not evil like you who can forget those painful nightmares."

"You disgust me!" | cut him off angrily. "I can't believe you could use your own life to manipulatelike this."

| walked out on him, not listening to whatever he's trying to say. He drowned himself. He must've seenat the

balcony, that's why he jumped in the water. | can't believe him!-

| went upstairs and straight to my room. | went straight to the walk-in closet. | dried myself and changed my

clothes so | won't catch a cold but | woke up the next day feeling so heavy. My head is aching and I'm burning.

A soft knock madelook at the closed door. My eyes were hot and heavy don't have the energy to open the

door but | remember | didn't lock it last night because | forgot

"Kelly? I'm coming in."

| swallowed hard and squeezed my eyes closed. My throat felt so dry and | wanted swarm water.

The door clicked and opened. | opened my eyes again and saw Klay entering.

| don't wanna talk to him or see him today but | feel so weak, | couldn't even utter a word.

"Are you okay?" He went straight to the bed when he sawlike sushi, wrapped inside a blanket.

He put his hand on my forehead. | wanted to shove his hand away but my body won't allowto move. ""You're

sick!"

| closed my eyes again and not a few seconds later, | fell asleep.

When | woke up again, | felt better. | realized my clothes weren't the sand there's a cloth on my forehead.

| took my blanket off and landed my feet on the floor. My forehead creased when | saw Klay lying on the sofa

inside my room. He's fast asleep in an uncomfortable position. My stomach was growling in hunger so | left the

room and went to the kitchen.

| bulged my tongue on my cheek from the inside when smelled the delicious scent of food coming from

the kitchen.

"Miss Kelly, | prepared your dinner."

| looked at the food that the chef prepared on the table.

"Sir Klay toldto prepare soup for you but you fell asleep and you just woke up now. | supposed you're feeling

better now."

| sat on the dining chair, not responding to everything he said.

"Sir Klay got drunk all night. He was always like that during his mother's death anniversary."

That madestill. | lifted my face and looked at the chef. Yesterday was his mother's death anniversary?

The chef laughed awkwardly. "I was the chef in your father's house 10 years ago. So | kinda memorized Sir Klay's

attitude and sthings about him."

His mother's death anniversary. Yesterday? That's the reason why he got drunk all day and night? Was that also

the reason why he jumped in the water?

| swallowed hard and dropped my eyes on the food. The talkative chef continued sharing random things but my

mind was stuck on the information he shared about Klay's mother.

When | went back to the room, Klay was still asleep. | stared at his face from the door. His eyes have dark circles

around them. He lost weight. He grew facial hair. He looked stressed out.

| looked away, not wanting to feel that annoying feeling in my heart.

| shouldn't feel sympathy or pity for him. | shouldn't feel affected. He ruined my life. There's nothing he can do to

remove or at least lessen the pain he inflicted in me. Whatever he's going through, it shouldn't be his ticket out

of the evil deeds he made. ***Phoebe's POV

"Where have you been?"

Day four of sneaking out of my parents house just to visit Snow in Kelly's apartment. My brother noticed what

I've been doing and now he confronted me.
