What We Need Kelly's POV

| was staring at my little angel while breastfeeding her. Her hands were balled and so small and soft. She looks

likewhen | was young. The resemblance was undeniable and I'm thankful she looks exactly like me. Actually,

I'm scared and nervous because the baby may resemble Pierce and he would find out about her real father when

that happened. So when she cout looking like me, | was relieved.

Pierce was sitting besideon the bed, watching the baby. When | looked at him, he didn't seem to be blinking.

He was just staring at her face with a soft expression.

The door swung open, Interrupting us. A nurse entered carrying a piece of paper and a ballpen.

| turned my head to the window. A smile crept on my lips as | saw the droplets of white cotton-like balls outside.

"Snow.." | whispered and looked at my baby again. She's white as snow. Soft as snow and beautiful like the blue

sky.

| saw a small smile on Pierce's lips as he wrote the non the paper before he handed it back to the nurse. The

latter was about to leave when my little angel started crying.

"What's wrong, baby?" | asked gently and looked at her.

The nurse went besideand checked. "Your milk might not be coming out, ma'am. That's a common problem

for new mommies"

| looked at her worriedly. "Do we need a breast pump or is there another way?"

She smiled and glanced at Pierce. "Mr. Anderson can do something, ma'am. He just has to suck the breast to

make the milk cout."

An awkward silence reigned us. The nurse had already left but my cheeks were still burning. | don't know what to

do. Having Pierce to suck my breast like that would be very awkward but our baby keeps on crying.

Pierce cleared his throat. | can see how red his neck and ears were. "1-I'll buy a breast pump."

"Can you just..." | trailed off and stared at him. He looked atand swallowed hard.

He glanced at my chest before he lookedin the eyes again. "Can't | just....squeeze.

| sucked my breath and looked away. That's awkward too and | don't think that would work.

Pierce slowly went closer so | gently put baby Snow on the bed for a while. He stared at my face when | faced

him and slowly lifted my hospital dress. He seemed hesitant but when he looked at baby Snow, still crying on the

bed, he moved his face lower, leveling it to my chest.

exes. We've done further than this when we're still together but why do | still feel awkward when it comes to

peacefully. | couldn't help but admire her cute face. She got her dad's curl eyelashes actually. It looks so good on

her small rounded face.

While we're watching baby Snow, Pierce's phone on the bedside table vibrates. | saw the nof the caller even

when Pierce was quick to grab it. | was expecting him to excuse himself and leave but he didn't. Instead, he

turned his phone off and sat on the bed again, watching baby Snow. "Why didn't you answer her call?" | asked

curiously.

| know my limit. He's committed so someone else | don't have the right to keep him here. If | were in Lexi's

position, | would be scared and angry because of what he's doing. He's ignoring her.

He shook his head and smiled bitterly. "We're just gonna fight again."

That's because you're ignoring her. How long has it been since she saw you? Pierce, you have a family too. You

can't stay withlike this."

He looked away, guilt visible in his eyes.

"1-1 don't wanna leave you here."
