place tomorrow.”

‘Gathering?’ Ian thought.

Ian subconsciously became unhappy. He did not like Kelly leaving him and being with someone else.

However, he restrained himself and pretended to be curious. “What gathering?”

Kelly showed him the invitation. “Cyril brought it over for me. He said that it was sent by the daughter of the Phil

family’s third son.”

‘Why is Cyril so insensible?’ Ian thought.

His gaze darkened, but his gloom instantly dissipated when he saw the words “cousin-in-law” on the invitation.

‘Cousin and cousin-in-law…’ Ian thought.

He subconsciously looked down and glanced at Kelly. The corners of his mouth curled up.

They were a family. They were husband and wife.

“Alright.” Ian nodded. He looked extremely noble, but also a little cute. “But remember to come back early. I’ll get

Cyril to follow you.”

He had something to deal with tonight and couldn’t follow her, so he left her some instructions.

“No need, no need.” Kelly quickly shook her head. She thought, ‘Why would I need Cyril? It’s a waste of his talents.’

She had always been afraid of how Ian would lose his temper with the flick of a switch in the past. It was as if he

could not control himself at all.

to put on makeup at all. She was stunning even with simple eyebrow makeup and lipstick on.

“You don’t like it?” Ian blinked. A trace of confusion flashed across his eyes. “I’ve watched a lot of romance movies

and television dramas recently. This is a line I learned from them.”

“Movies and television dramas?” Kelly nodded. “That’s fine, but you should only learn from the good ones, not the

bad ones.”

Kelly reacted quickly. She immediately remembered that there were dramas that glamorized an abusive romance.

Ian was smart and knew how to draw inferences. She did not want him to be led astray.

Kelly went out after reminding Ian of that.

Time was a little tight. She could only get Cyril to contact Lucia to înform her that she would only arrive later.

At the banquet, everyone had already arrived and was waiting for

someone.

Lucia told everyone about how Mrs. Walter would be late when she received the news.

Someone said with a smirk, “She’s so arrogant. Though, it’s no wonder. After all, she’s Mr. Walter’s wife. Her status

is different from ours.”

Lucia swept her gaze around.

The smirking woman immediately became quiet.

Sharon did not want to listen to their chide remarks, so she went backstage and prepared to show off in front of

Kelly to salvage some of her reputation.

She had had enough of being angry at the Phil family during this time.
