Initially, Josie hadn't planned to pay attention, but the video caught her eye, impossible to ignore.
It was a simple recording, but the ambiance of the western restaurant and the attire of the duo lent it a remarkable air of romance and harmony.
Dexter's presence was notably distinct, radiating a unique charm amid the blend of vibrant and serene colors. Juliette, adorned in a white gown, faced him, her elegance unmistakable.
Their engrossed conversation suggested they weren't in a hurry to conclude their meeting.
A sudden realization hit Josie; this must be what Dexter had been talking about.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt's as if he's busy darting between two women.
Her interest in the meal vanished. She averted her eyes, refusing to watch any longer, and reached for her phone to settle the bill through a quick scan.
Following this, she remained quiet, which seemed to surprise Morgan. He caught her wrist gently. "Aren't you going to question him?" "Question what?" She appeared genuinely confused.
"Why he's doing this to you." "I never interrogated you about those times with other women." At twenty, Josie might have confronted the issue, but at twenty-five, she chose silence.
Morgan appeared exhausted, not having foreseen that innocents would be dragged into the situation. Resigned, he took his phone from her. "Forget the past. Also, I've never expected you to cover any expenses." He swiftly paid the bill.
Josie, lacking the energy for debate, stood up and headed to the restroom.
Had she looked toward the entrance at that moment, she would have caught a glimpse of a man rushing in, breathless from his haste. His eyes, alight with a fierce intensity, were fixed on someone inside the private dining area, captivated for a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity.
Within the room, the relaxed man noticed the stare. He slowly raised his head, a faint smile on his lips, and casually waved Josie's phone in his hand.
It was a triumphant gesture, a preordained showdown.
Even more striking than that was the silhouette of a lone woman.
Dexter straightened himself, regaining his usual demeanor as if the earlier event was trivial.
Morgan was insistent on driving her back to the hospital.

The content of that video was all that filled her mind.
Morgan was known for his unpredictability, and she had always been adept at deciphering his intentions. As for Juliette... What did they talk about, and what are they talking about now? Their prolonged dinner has even resulted inbeing neglected.
Upon arriving at the hospital's entrance, Morgan proposed, "I'll go up and see how Old Mr. Olsen is doing." "In what role?" "An old classmate." Forcing a smile, Josie retorted, "I'm not in the mood for your games." With that, she shut the car door with a thud and departed, her walk in high heels, each step echoing her solitude and somber mood.
It wasn't until she disappeared from view that Morgan allowed him walk to look away. Merely watching her walk away seemed to offer him a tranquil feeling. n Approaching the hospital room, Josie realized her outfit was overly lavish for the setting. She hesitated, considering a change, when a nurse opened the door to change the IV drip, leaving her exposed. S "You're back?" Mark's voice was deep and inquiring.
With no place to retreat, Josie stepped in. "Yes." Yet, the moment she entered, she froze. Seated in front of the hospital bed was the very man who had stood her up just an hour earlier.
Dexter looked up nonchalantly. "You're back.” Josie turned to leave immediately.
"Leanne!" Mark called after her, "Where are you going?" With no place to conceal her discomfort, she turned away. "I need to change my clothes; I don't want to make a spectacle of myself."
