Blind Date Turned Proposal (Josie and Dexter)
Chapter 952 Finding An Old FriendJustin drove at an incredibly high speed. He glanced at the rearview mirror, then turned his attention to Josie.
"What should we do if Dexter finds us?" Josie tied up her hair in frustration. "Can't you drive any faster?" Justin remained patient and quickly replied, "Ruby is currently working as a clerk in a small town in Rivodia. She's diligent and ordinary, just like everyone else." "Where is she now?" "I've made arrangements at a small inn where no one will find us." Ruby was inconspicuous, so unless someone deliberately sought her out, she wouldn't attract any attention.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtJosie flipped through the documents that Justin had prepared. It seemed that Ruby had been deceived by him.
Justin had posed as a superior from their company, claiming that he was taking her on a business trip to Wavery.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Justin hesitated before unlocking the central control. "Josie, | was shocked to discover that Heather is not Liana. If she is an imposter, then who is the real Liana?" Josie's eyes swirled, momentarily stumped by the question.
She opened her mouth. "I don't know." Justin stared at her face, somewhat incredulous. "Really?" "| just want to uncover this conspiracy. You found out everything. How would | know when you don't?" Josie spoke these words cautiously, unsure of how much Justin would believe her.
She could never cto terms with living as Liana. What did that concept even mean? Would this world accept her? She felt scared and afraid of having to face it all.
Justin nodded skeptically. "So why do you want to uncover this conspiracy?" Josie fell silent for a moment. "I am doing it for... Dexter." He helped her out of the car and found the room assigned to Ruby.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe door swung open, revealing a woman of simple yet striking beauty. "Mr. Warren, you've arrived," she said.
Before Justin could speak, Ruby caught sight of Josie standing behind him. She paused, her expression somewhat odd. "Mr. Warren, who is this..." "Don't be nervous. She just wants to ask you squestions. Just relax." Then, Justin left the room, giving them sprivacy.
Ruby noticed that despite the woman's fashionable clothes, she was quite approachable. Sitting in her chair, she smiled and said, "Hello, Ruby. My nis Josie. Have we met somewhere before?" Ruby also sat down. "You look familiar to me, but | can't remember where we've met. Do you know me?" Josie shook her head. "Today is the first tI've met you." "So you..." Josie pulled out a photo ID from her bag. "The person you think looks familiar is actually her, isn't it?" In the photo, it was unmistakably Heather's face.
Ruby covered her mouth in surprise. "This is Rachel! Do you know her? Has something happened to her?" Josie smiled. "What's your relationship with her?" "I'm her best friend from high school!" "No wonder you recognized her at first glance. It seems you care a lot about her. Does she feel the sabout you?" Ruby's expression dimmed. "After she went to college, we lost contact. But... Ms. Warren, has something happened to her?" Josie shook her head regretfully. "No, she changed her name, graduated successfully, found a good job, and even reconciled with her family. She's doing well. She doesn't contact you because your presence would cause her trouble." Ruby was even more shocked. "What are you talking about?" Josie calmly pulled out another photo. It was a recent picture of Heather. She was sitting in a luxury car, sipping coffee, a far cry from the impoverished girl she was in high school.
