Blind Date Turned Proposal (Josie and Dexter)
Chapter 974 The Plastic SurgeonOnce the rehearsal was completed, Moses had waited in the car for a long time. Larry approached him immediately, lowering his voice. “Mr. Russell, there's news from Matthew.” “Go on,” he said.
“He went to Japrium to seek out a plastic surgeon. He had sconnections in the medical field, and it seemed he had a favor to ask of him.” “Isn't it strange for a surgeon to seek a plastic surgeon?” Dexter strode out, adjusting his tie.
“Indeed, it's quite peculiar for him to travel all the way to Japrium. What on earth did Ms. Warren ask of him that made him undertake such a laborious task?” This statement caused Dexter to pause slightly. “She is always capable of such things.” At the mention of the topic, Moses, who was in the front seat, interjected, “A plastic surgeon? | think I've heard a thing or two about that.” Dexter cast a sharp glance at him. “What?” “I can't quite recall, but | believe Josie and Ms. Whiteford mentioned it before. Oh, that's right. There was this one tMs. Whiteford handed a document to Josie that she wouldn't letsee. After she read it, her expression was quite odd. In the end, she even used a lighter to burn the document. | had no idea what it was.” After sthought, Moses found himself puzzled by the situation. He had been too busy to report the matter to Dexter, and now that Josie had disappeared, he was trying his best to provide useful clues.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtUpon hearing this, Dexter squinted his eyes as he made a call. “Calvin, go see your so-called girlfriend. She might know the truth.” Upon hearing this, there wasn't an immediate response. Instead, there was a hint of hesitation.
“Dax... she's now my ex-girlfriend. Fine... I'll go right away.” After ending the call, Dexter flipped his phone over with a flick of his finger. Lifting his gaze, he saw Claudia emerging from inside. She got into a car with Heather, and they quickly drove off.
“Where has Heather been to recently?” “The person watching her claims that she has gone nowhere. Every day, they travel back and forth between this place and the Olsen Residence, devoting their entire being to the wedding preparations.” Dexter's gaze on Heather grew increasingly cold, showing no trace of fondness.
He rubbed his fingers subconsciously as he remarked, “They didn't go anywhere.” Larry expressed surprise. “Do you think there's something wrong with her?” “Let's have our people in the Olsen Residence keep an eye on her. | want to know exactly what she's been doing there.” “Yes.” Larry paused. “About Matthew...” “Keep an eye on his flight. Intercept him once he disembarks from the plane.” Meanwhile, at an abandoned construction site, the rain had ceased, yet the weather remained cold. Josie's fever waxed and waned, leaving her lucid for only brief periods. Nevertheless, she endured it as best as she could.
The construction site was vast, surrounded by overgrown weeds and a picture of utter desolation. Yet, in such a remote place, Josie spotted a tea plant.
It was a young plant, standing distinct and solitary amidst the grass.
She squinted her eyes, suddenly recalling something. Once, Claudia had shown her around Olsen Residence, where the mountain at the back was filled with tea plants. The variety was unique, identical to what she was looking at right then.
How could it be such a coincidence? Josie's heart pounded like a drum, suddenly, a shocking idea struck her...
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt was quite challenging for Heather to carry out all these actions without anyone noticing. However, if this place belonged to the Olsen family, which outsiders had no access to, no one would be able to find her.
In other words, even if she died, no one would notice.
Reflecting on this, Josie was gripped by fear. The irony of dying in her own true hwas too much for her to bear.
“Mr. Johnny,” Josie said in a hoarse voice.
The bald man who had been playing cards cover, cursing, “What is it?”
