Caroline frowned. She kept thinking that this woman was weird Just as she was about to question the

woman, Kirk’s phone rang, diverting her attention.

She turned to Kirk. He had already looked away from them and answered the phone.

The call was from Ivan, and he sounded very serious. “Come and see Avery right away.”

Kirk refused immediately, saying, “I’m not free at the moment.”
