The woman stared blankly at Kirk, who stood nearby, and her eyes turned red again. She put her

head down and ran away.

Caroline silently watched the woman run away.

“What’s wrong?” Kirk had already finished his call. When he saw the employee running away, a sharp

glint appeared in his eyes.

Caroline touched her face. “Do I look scary today?” Why had the woman cried after just a brief

conversation with her?

The two went to Ivan’s home. As soon as they walked through the door, they saw Avery sitting on

days ago.

When Avery saw Caroline and Kirk, she looked up at them listlessly, tears welling in her eyes.

“Dad,” Caroline said, greeting Ivan.

Ivan asked, “Let me ask you, did you leak Avery’s drafts for the game concept?”

Caroline blinked. Even though she understood every word he spoke, when she strung them
