As expected, Ivan gave Caroline a look of appreciation after hearing her words.

apologized. What more do you want?”

truth has come to light, shouldn’t you say something to me?”

Lia’s expression shifted. “What do you mean? Do you want an elder like me to apologize to you?”

Caroline looked past Lia at Avery. Since Avery used her mother to fight her battles, she had to pay the

price.

Feeling Caroline’s eyes on her, Avery clenched her fists. She tried to persuade her mother, “Mom, we

misunderstood Caroline, so you should apologize to her!”

“No way!” Lia lost her composure and yelled, “If someone like me apologizes to a young woman like

her, we’ll become a laughing stock! Besides, our suspicions were reasonable. You can’t blame us for

this.

Caroline smiled playfully. She didn’t look at Lia at all. Instead, she was looking at Avery
