Kirk pulled Caroline into his embrace. “Not very long. Are you hungry?”

‘No. You?”

“A little.”

Kirk hadn’t eaten much at the hotel.

“Then what would you like to eat?” Caroline allowed Kirk to hold her. She even wriggled slightly further

into his embrace.

It was so warm in his arms.

“What about you?”

Caroline smiled. “I’m not hungry. How could you forget so quickly?”

Kirk put his hands on Caroline’s shoulders and looked at her solemnly.

After a moment, she pushed Kirk away. “Alright, what are we eating now? Don’t ask me to choose.”

A shop opposite them sold mac and cheese. There were a number of people inside, so the food must

be good.

Kirk didn’t have any objections, so they both went inside.

The shop mostly dealt with takeaways, so there were lots of empty seats.

Caroline found a table, and they both sat down.

After they had ordered, Caroline got a call from Gwen.

to show your gratitude?”

“Why don’t I pay for our trip then?” Caroline said.

“That wouldn’t be too good, right?” Gwen politely tried to reject her.

“There’s a new aquatic center in the city’s new development area, did you know? Why don’t we go

there? We can look at hot guys, too.”

Caroline eyed Kirk, but she didn’t want to reject Gwen. “Forget it then. I don’t want to go swimming.”

“Then we can go fishing

“Let’s stay away from the water.”

When he heard the word “water,” Kirk raised his head to look at Caroline.
