Instead of answering, Caroline kept Jude guessing. She lifted a wine glass and clinked it several times.

The room fell silent. Everyone turned to look at Caroline.

Caroline dragged herself to the stage despite her injured foot. She said into the microphone,

“Everyone, I would like to use the opportunity of Grandpa’s birthday to announce some good news.”

The crowd was touched by her honest confession. Even Eddy was affected by her words. Even if he

knew that Caroline was only exaggerating…

From their table at the back, Sarah and Dan eagerly anticipated what was coming.

Sitting in her wheelchair, Layla had a cruel and confident smile.

Caroline’s gaze traveled over everyone’s faces. She memorized each of their expressions.

When she looked away, she found Kirk standing to the side. She was stunned, but she shot him a

dazzling smile.

That look shocked Kirk with its beauty.
