It wasn’t until Caroline felt Kirk’s body temperature slowly rising that she raised her head. “What happened to you?
Did you just return from Dr. Caldwell’s place?”
The only thing that could make Kirk react like this was something concerning her.
Kirk gently shook his head. “No.”
Caroline frowned, but she didn’t expose his lie. “Have you eaten?”
“Nope.”
“Then, let’s go out for dinner.” Caroline took Kirk’s hand.
“Kirk, it seems we haven’t had a candlelight dinner before.”
Kirk thought for a moment and nodded. “You’re right.”
“Let’s go have some Faromish food. We’ll go to the same restaurant where you proposed to me.”
“You still remember that?”
“Of course!” At the mention of that incident, Caroline felt quite regretful.
“Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten about that.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Of course not. How could I forget?” Kirk caressed Caroline’s head lovingly.
“Go change your clothes: I’ll call the restaurant owner and ask him to reserve a table for us.”
“All right,” Caroline responded before`she headed upstairs.
As Kirk watched her leave, he felt his heartache again. The three treatment options pushed him
and Caroline into a desperate situation.
Kirk closed his eyes for a moment. He waited until his emotions had subsided before calling the
restaurant owner.
By the time he was done, Caroline had changed into her dress and come downstairs. She was
wearing a Faromish–style dress.
The hem of her dress was wide and fluffy, only revealing her beautiful ankles. Furthermore, the
waistband style showed off her slim waist.

Kirk took off his suit jacket and put it on Caroline. “Let’s go.
Caroline looked at Kirk in confusion. “Why are you putting this jacket on me? It looks so ugly
combined with my dress.”
“I think you look pretty good like this. That way, the men on the streets won’t even dare to gawk at
you.”
Caroline laughed at his words. “Kirk, are you that insecure about yourself? I mean, I’m not even
worried about you attracting other women’s attention.”
“You don’t?” Kirk raised Caroline’s chin.
Caroline smiled confidently. “Of course not. Why don’t you try it out?”
“No.” Kirk held Caroline’s hand.
“I’m not interested in those women at all.”
“Then, who are you interested in?” Caroline chuckled.
Kirk tapped Caroline’s nose. “You clearly know the answer to the question. All right. We should go.
“Okay.” Caroline held Kirk’s hand and headed to the Faromish restaurant.
When they arrived, Caroline realized that they were the only ones there.
“Why isn’t there anyone else here?” Caroline asked curiously.
Kirk led her through the dimly lit restaurant and sat at the dining table. “It’s perfect, isn’t it? Just
imagine that I booked this entire restaurant for you.”
“Sure.” Caroline smiled sweetly.

chin on them.
“You’ll be the person in charge of the newly established Evans Group soon. When the time comes,
booking an entire restaurant would be an easy chore for you.”
Kirk chuckled. “Darling, you’ve already planned to leave Evans Group to me after you take over
Collins Group, have you?”

“I’m no longer interested in managing a company. I want to spend my time writing manuscripts. 1 want to become
a famous playwright like Aunt Mary,”
Kirk smiled slightly at her words. “When did you start having this wish?”
Caroline thought for a moment before replying, “In the beginning, I continued writing simply because of Aunt
Mary’s approval.
“Later on, I gradually experienced the joy of creating something. I never knew that the feeling of being able to
communicate with the characters one wrote could be so wonderful.”
