Adrian was indeed at Yates Manor now.

However, his purpose for this visit wasn’t to see the Yates family but for Caroline.

So, upon seeing Sean, he straightforwardly asked, “Where’s Caroline?”

Sean pointed to the couch, saying, “Just had someone call to ask the same thing. She went to the seal

and probably won’t be back until this afternoon.”

“Then I’ll wait for her to come back.”

Adrian sat down on the couch.

Sean had someone bring a glass of water for Adrian. “Actually, you could come back later.”

Adrian smiled. “I’m afraid if I come later, you’ll tell me to come back at night.”

Sean asked, “Do you think I’m lying to you?”

“I didn’t say that.” Adrian took a sip of water.

“It’s just that you’re a good friend of Kirk Morrison. So it’s hard to believe you.”

Sean wasn’t offended. “As you wish. I have other things to attend to. If you don’t mind, I’ll leave you to

wait here.”

“Okay.”

Seeing this, Sean didn’t say anything else. He went upstairs to work.

By the time he had finished his work, it was lunchtime. He went downstairs and was surprised to see

Adrian still there. He admired the latter’s perseverance.

“You came anyway even though you know Caroline doesn’t like you. Is this a form of … self-torture?” Sean asked

Adrian, who was playing with his phone, as he descended the stairs.

Adrian looked at Sean and smiled. “Are you so sure that the amnesiac Caroline won’t fall in love with me?”

Sean said, “Eddy Morrison is a good example.”

“I’m different from him. Eddy once caused Caroline a great deal of pain, but I didn’t,” Adrian said with.

Sean was speechless.

After lunch, Adrían waited until the evening, which was when Caroline finally returned.

Caroline was quite startled to see Adrian as soon as she arrived.

“Adrian, why are you here?”

Feeling triumphant, Adrian glanced at Sean before responding to Caroline.

“Since you came abroad so hastily, I thought you probably wouldn’t have had time to bring any local

specialties, so I brought some for you when I came over.”

On the side, Betty discreetly looked at Sean, her eyes filled with excitement.

Sean was speechless.

“You’re welcome. We’re both visitors in a foreign country, and it’s only right for us to look out for each

other.”

Betty couldn’t help but say, “You sure know the right things to say. Have you had dinner? I’m sure your

house is far away. Why not stay for dinner?”

At the mention of dinner, Caroline suddenly remembered that she had promised to treat Adrian to dinner

to thank him.

“Yeah, stay for dinner. It’s too late today, and I’m not familiar with this place. I can’t treat you to dinner

now. So just stay for dinner.

“Consider it my way of repaying the favor. After some time, when I’m familiar with the places here, I’ll

treat you to another meal.”

Betty chimed in, “Why wait? Since Caroline wants to treat…”

Adrian said, “Adrian Sorkin.”
