Chapter 421
Jasper’s mistaken perception of Alyssa was unquestionably deserving of a spot in the hall
of shame.
Right at that moment, the intercom rang. Jasper put the call on speaker. “What is it?”
“Mr. Beckett, Ms. Alyssa’s secretary is here to see you. He didn’t have an appointment.
Should we send him away?”
Xavier rolled his eyes upon learning that Sean was here. He despised Sean very much,
and their relationship resembled that of cats and dogs-in a perpetual state of conflict.
“Let him in,” ordered Jasper in a cold and composed tone.
The opportunity to meet the esteemed president of the Beckett Group was a rare
privilege. However, Sean was connected to Alyssa, so Jasper was willing to make an
exception.
A few minutes later, Sean entered the office with a stoic expression.
“Mr. Beckett, I came under Ms. Alyssa’s orders to deliver something to you,” said Sean as

“What’s inside?” Jasper’s gaze was fixed on the box.
“A bomb,” Sean replied indifferently.
Jasper pursed his lips, finding himself at a loss for words.
“Hey, do you think you’re funny?” Xavier couldn’t tolerate Sean at all. He was such a
lackey for Alyssa. He retorted, “If it really is a bomb, do you think you can get past the
security check at the Beckett Group’s
entrance?”
Sean sneered at him. “So why did Mr. Beckett ask in the first place? You just have to keep
in mind that it’s nothing dangerous. Ms. Alyssa gave it to you, so just accept it.”
Xavier gritted his teeth and thought to himself that the person in front of him might seem
decent, but he could be quite an asshole when speaking.
Jasper pressed his lips together firmly as he opened the box with curiosity.
Indeed, there wasn’t anything dangerous in it. Instead, a mousse cake shaped like a dog’s
head was in it. He smiled unwittingly.
“Did Ms. Alyssa make this herself?” He seemed composed, but a hint of joy in his eyes
gave him away.
“Huh, how can you even entertain such a thought, Mr. Beckett? Ms. Alyssa told me to buy
it for you. Do you still think you’re worthy of Ms. Alyssa’s cooking?” Sean mocked.
Jasper was dumbfounded, his jaw clenched tight.
“You’re speaking in vain. It’s not as if Ms. Alyssa never cooked for Mr. Beckett. If he wasn’t
worthy, how could she have done so for three years?” Xavier snapped angrily. He could no
longer hold back his anger.
Sean glanced at Jasper with disdain. “Alice might make dog food, but that’s not the case
for Ms. Alyssa.”
Xavier was utterly infuriated. He clenched his fists, ready to throw a punch at him. “How
dare you!”
“That’s enough, Xavier,” Jasper called a halt to his actions. Instead, he questioned Sean

“Ms. Alyssa sent me here to tell you that she has already received the anonymous email
you sent. This is what she gave you in return.”
Jasper was stunned for a while. She already knew? So soon?
“Ms. Alyssa sent this cake to remind you not to treat her like a fool, She’s incredibly smart
an extremely talented people around her. She doesn’t need a strategist who’s as dense as
a dog.”

Once Sean had finished his sentence, he didn’t even bother to excuse himself. He simply
turned and left the office right away.
“Strategist who’s as dumb as a dog. Was he talking about you?”
Jasper thought that even if it had been that apparent, he did not need to point it out.
Xavier finally realized what he had blurted out when he saw Jasper’s grim expression. His
face turned
pale in an instant, and he timidly retreated to the corner of the wall.
