Chapter 90

Dylan POV

A couple of days had already past and | hadn't seen anyone at all but the guard sent to givea drink of water.

The cell | was in was damp, cold water dropped from the outside onto the stone floor and caused the noise to

echo throughout the room. It was haunting. | hadn't noticed too much the last t| was down there, because |

had Carlos, but now, now I had no one, if | didn’t get out soon | would end up going insane.

Like the king had demanded, my wrists were tightly connected to the wall with thick silver cuffs, | couldn't move

my arms at all and so any t| was given water it had to be fed to me. | hadn't eaten the entire tI'd been

down there, and because of it, my stomach felt hollow, and radiated a small cramping pain every tit would

rumble. Around my ankles, the scuffs as my wrists were placed, however they were simply connected to

each other by a short, thick, and heavy chain. There was a small bucket placed to the side ofto use as a

toilet, | had to awkwardly kick it into place in order to use it. And could only stand on my knees due to the way

my arms were bound.

In other words King Josh had seen to it that | was locked up good and tight, escape was impossible unless | did

indeed beg for it.

A small cough sounded through the cell and made my throbbing head raise only to meet Oliver. The gammas

he stood within the doorway. He looked a bit tired, not that | cared much, | was constantly exhausted, so he can

just suck it up. | hadn't stood up or moved position in two days, | slept sat up, my body was numb, my muscles

were shot, and | had developed this horrendous cough due to the damp conditions | was living under.

“Lewis didn’t get caught, he’s safe somewhere. The king has found no trace of him,” Huh? Oh my fucking god!

He's safe? | felt my eyes widen slightly at this revelation, Id been thinking about him the entire time.

The king can’t kill me, although I do wish for it stimes, but Lewis?

He could kill him in a heartbeat and nobody would bat an eye at it. So the fact that he made it out and was sade

was such a relief, at least one of us was ot

“Thank you for letting him go.” | whispered as my numbness slowly crept up my body and hadwincing while

| attempted to wriggle my bound wrists.

“I didn’t do it for you, he wouldn't be in this mess at all if it wasn’t for you.” He was right, | just caused problems

everywhere. It was all my fault he’d been dismissed and banished, but King Josh truly did get the wrong idea.

“Nothing happened, | swear it.” 1.hung my throbbing head in hopelessness, no one was ever going to believe

me. | was just the pathetic human that was forced to be there.

“I know that, Lewis isn’t that stupid. Huh? My head shot up to regard the gamma who walked over towith a

small key in his hand.

“Nothing happened, not physically anyway.”

“If you know, why didn’t you do something? You could have told His grace?” He sighed and quickly began to fit

the key into the lock on my wrists restraints. As soon as the lock was open the Gamma pulled the curls away and

my arms dropped to the ground like lead. A groan wracked through as pins and needles instantly shot up and

down my limbs.

“Have you ever tried reasoning with Josh when he gets mad like that?” He draggedup onto my feet and my

weight instantly crumpled from underneath me. | had NEVER been so weak. “Look, | am sorry, but | am loyal to

Josh, you and Lewis might not have done anything physical, but you do love each other, and Josh acted

accordingly. He may have taken things a bit too far but given the situation | can understand his actions.” What

on earth was he on about? | looked at him in utter bewildernient as he wrapped his arm around my back and

took basically all of my weight, before escortingout of the dungeon.

“What are you on about, we were just friends.” He shook his head and sighed at my words, just as he began to

helpup the stairs.

“YOU may have just been friends, but Lewis definitely wasn’t. | think you may be his mate! What?! That wasn’t

possible, we were just friends, he was just helpingnavigate my situation.

“Is that what king Josh thought?” The gamma nodded his head and opened the door to the main palace. He was

quick in helpingto the grand entrance once more. My eyes widened slightly when | saw the envoy of the king

stood there, Greta was stood next to a rack of dresses and my handmaidens were stood to the side of her. |

swallowed thickly before turning to the king

“What's going on?” | asked, my voice quieter than | expected, as | looked around. The kings face held a constant

grimace as he looked at me, that’s when | made the connection. “Not Another punishment? | haven't done

anything...”

“You fucked another man and then tried to run away with him! His voice got louder by the end of the sentence

and with it my own anger grew. | thought | was on the verge of breaking yesterday, but now instead | was going

to explode, | did manage to calm down slightly but not much. All it would take was one comment, one action and

| was going to blow.

“However, this isn’t about you. The kingdom is currently without a beta, this must be rectified fast. Oliver will be

appointed as the new royal beta, and Warren will be given the title of royal Gamma.” My eyes widened as his

grace snapped his fingers, which gestured Greta to immediately get to work. “1 want her in the red one.” Greta

nodded and grabbed the red gown off the rack and quickly spread it out on the floor forto step into.

| got dressed quickly, somehow keeping my modesty in the process.

Lewis's top was removed fromand given to the king who immediately tore it up, my hair was brushed and

placed in a very simple bun, the dress was long so it covered my still bare feet there was no way | could wear

heels in my state. My head was wiped with a damp cloth to get rid of the dried blood from 7 days ago and simple

make up was placed carefully on my face.

“You are to sit behindat all times. You are not to say a word or move an inch... Do you understand me?!” |

nodded my head so much that | sent myself slightly dizzy, the lack of food getting to me. “Good!” Hang on, did

he say I'd be sal down? The very first public announcement that had absolutely nothing to do with me! | never «

thought I'd see the day, | should hopefully be able to just sit and listen
