119 Chapter 119: A Danite
Alex gazed at the being skeptically while watching the recording. Sometimes it blurred, sometimes it scenes, either way, this was not enough evidence for Alex to believe it completely.
By the way, he is human so his priority will always be humans.
“What are you trying to save us from?” Alex asked casually as he gazed at the being.
It was surprising it had managed to survive this long with such injury.
“They call themselves the Danites... They go about, harvesting each and every race they come across, destroying their homeworld and stealing the resources of the world” the being said
“Over a few centuries, many races have fallen to them.... They simply send the blue death into the planet’s atmosphere. A poisonous substance that weakens the world and puts its inhabitants at the brink of death... then they swoop in and finish the job... but it was different here” The being said with genuine surprise on his face as he gazed at Alex.
“How?” Alex was interested and leaned forward, he wanted to know more.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe blue death it referred to is the blue comets that fell into the earth’s atmosphere so Alex could confirm this part of the story at least.
“While the blue death was poisonous to us, it was different for you humans... it enhanced your genes and gave some of your strange abilities. And even those who didn’t get abilities were given the opportunity to perform superhuman feats with their once feeble bodies” The being said and Alex nodded in understanding but some of the stories weren’t adding up.
.....
He had questions.
“This doesn’t make any sense... If they sent in the blue Death and noticed we got stronger not, weaker, why didn’t they swoop in immediately to destroy the human race? Why wait until we get used to our newfound powers?” Alex asked.
If he were in the same position as the Danites, he would have done that. Why let his prey develop?
“They couldn’t.... The races defeated by the Danites soon joined forces to form a universal alliance against them and war broke out... As we speak the war is still ongoing... it’s not like they forgot earth or anything... they are just occupied for now” The being said calmly.
Hearing this Alex was stunned. While he was still suspicious, it made absolute sense. His eyes narrowed as he considered a possibility and asked.
“Who will win?” Alex asked.
“Obviously the Danites... The best the Alliance can do is hold them off and give humans enough time to develop... I was sent as an envoy to make the humans aware and invite them to join the war... As the superpower of this world, I chose this country, yet things turned out this way.” This being said with a bitter smile.
“If they know about this and chose to silence you, that doesn’t seem reasonable... what motive do they have?” Alex said with a disturbed look on his face.
He didn’t know what was going through the mind of the president and the big four but he didn’t dwell too much on the thought. He simply isn’t strong enough to fight against them so he has no reason to bother
“You do not plan to oppose them?” the being said observantly.
“This is the part where you become overzealous and risk your life to reveal the truth to the world... ” the being added.
“Nope... you met the wrong guy... I don’t get involved with battles I cannot win.... If I should join, there must be a small chance of me winning... so right now I guess it can wait” Alex said.
“well, I guess I met the right person... I don’t need someone who would act impulsively and die before getting the chance to reveal the truth.... You may act indifferent now but It will always remain at the back of your mind... when the time comes and you have acquired enough strength to oppose them, you will speak up” the being said with a strange smile before tossing the disk to Alex.
“That’s quite a lot of confidence to put in a stranger....” Alex said as he caught the disk and a cruel smile.
“Hahaha! I like you human... I wish I brought more but the gift I brought with me was taken away by your people... Since I am done for already there is no need for me to hold it anymore... This is very important to my race, you can hold on to it.... Hehehe! I’m sure they never expected I would go this far” the being said as it struggled to stand.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt casually walked towards Alex who stood on his feet but before he could react the being already grabbed him by the face and he blacked out.
For an unknown period of time, he remained unconscious and when he finally woke up, it was already late. His eyes fell on the alien who seemed to be on the brink of death now. It gazed at Alex with a smile and said.
“Consider this a gift from me to you... As long as you don’t die early and use my gift perfectly, you will become as strong as I am someday, a peak existence in this world” it said with a cocky look on its face.
“What the hell are you?” Alex couldn’t help but ask.
“A Danite” the being didn’t hesitate to answer anymore leaving Alex stunned.
A Danite, fighting against the Danites?
“Leave now... you too go with him... he is your new master now” the Danite said as he played with the little cat a bit before pushing it away gently.
The cat seemed reluctant but it obeyed its master and followed Alex. Alex wasn’t sure of what sort of gift this Danite claimed to give him but he eagerly left the place, he could sense something wrong.
After walking away for close to five minutes an explosion erupted. It came from the direction they just came from.
The cat wailed in agony and Alex Just sat beside it, letting it mourn its dead master. While he didn’t care about the man that didn’t mean he shouldn’t put the little beast into consideration.
