259 Strange informant!

Alex slowly opened his eyes and a hint of concern could be seen in his eyes. For some unknown reason, he has been feeling restless these days. It felt like everything was about to fall apart around him. He didn’t know why but he didn’t feel comfortable.

His instincts were going crazy!

What infuriated him the most was the fact he couldn’t tell where this feeling was coming from or when it would eventually manifest!

“There is no more time... we need to start taking action!” Alex said with a stern look as he slowly rose to his feet.

His eyes turned and behind him, in the same underground chamber were all members of the culture and the rebellion. With the Blue meteor present and its power fully concentrated, this was the best place for them to stay and pass time. Having their deviant genes absorb more of the Blue death will be more beneficial to them.

Unlike Alex, these people seemed far more peaceful making him wonder if he was paranoid. He quickly left the underground chamber and headed for higher ground. With the elevator, it wasn’t long before he reached the peak of the council tower and entered the meeting room of the elders.

Bam!

The doors swung open, catching the attention of all twelve elders in the room. Seeing Alex’s abrupt appearance, they were greatly disturbed and quickly stood up. The last instruction given to them by Alex was to prepare the weapons of war while he goes into secluded training.

So why did he appear now?

.....

“Something is wrong... I can feel it” Alex said as he wore a grim look on his face before walking over and taking a seat. His cold gaze remained pinned on the massive glass wall in the room, revealing the clouds and sky outside.

His words prompted some reaction from the twelve elders as they both shot each other a glance before returning their gaze to Alex with apologetic looks on their faces.

“What are you keeping from me?” Alex asked with a frown causing the elders to swallow heavily.

Jalic Gale stood up and with a pale face, he began to speak.

“A few days ago our spies on earth informed us of something big happening but not just on earth but the entire universe!” Jalic Gale said, which made Alex frown. He hated such beginnings in a discussion because it meant things can only get worse.

“And?” Alex asked with a calm look on his face. He believed as long as he didn’t look agitated these elders would reveal everything without hiding a thing.

“According to what we know at a certain point in history there are times when all civilization gets wiped out. At first, we didn’t think much of it but after researching and gathering as much information as we could we realized something strange. All these great catastrophes that lead to the destruction of the world always happen at the same time. All civilization is destroyed at the same time! It definitely cannot be a coincidence!” Jalic Gale said with a frown.

Hearing this, Alex leaned back and frowned as well. Seeing him pondering, no one dared to speak and could only listen to the sounds of his fingertips tapping the desk occasionally.

“Are you trying to say, this thing that’s threatening the universe is responsible for the great catastrophe?” Alex asked with a hint of killing intent in his eyes.

If what they are saying is true then whatever this is must be threatening his life as well. There is no way he would sit back and watch a threat to his life exist.

“It has already been verified by the invaders themselves... To combat this both the alliance and Danites have started making preparations.... From the information I got, the one leading the human force will be our informant on earth... So we won’t have any problem knowing their movements and activities!” Jalic Gale said with a deep bow. He sincerely hoped this part would be enough to calm Alex down.

“Ooh? To have an informant within the top figures on earth is no small feat... that explains why your people always know what’s happening on earth. That’s how I was saved... Considering that I believe I owe this to your informant... why didn’t you tell me about him in the first place if he was such an important figure?” Alex was taken aback by the revelation and quickly threw out his question without hesitation but the answer left him frowning slightly.

“We never had plans of hiding his identity from you but he asked us to keep his Identity disclosed until you personally ask for it. He claimed it will ruin everything in place” Jalic Gale responded quickly and respectfully.

“Oooh? And who may that person be?” Alex Briggs asked with a raised eyebrow.

“He goes by the name Silver Ainsworth,” Jalic Gale said with his face lowered.

Buzzz!

Alex felt like he had been struck by lightning. His eyes opened wide as his lips parted but no words came out. His brain instantly began working as images of past events raced into his mind.

Even when he was betrayed, he was conveniently saved at the perfect time making him wonder if the Estos race waited till they were sure he would die before acting but now he thought about it, it made more sense. Silver probably only alerted them when he was sure Alex would die.

All these while Alex believed he was betrayed by his best friend but it turns out he was saved by him.

Even his arrival to earth both back and forth seemed convenient. He actually found it strange that he couldn’t find Silver, Tracy, and Danny back then, making him wonder what level of technology they have that allowed them to hide from his senses. This is something he considered impossible but right now it made so much sense.

“Silver Ainsworth has taken control of the human forces with his strength alone. He managed to suppress the others and gained the approval of the Danite race’s third prince... ” Jalic Gale added.
