On top of the battle stage, an azure-robed man stood tall, his regal presence commanding attention from all who beheld him. His robes were a rich shade of blue, the fabric flowing around him like a river in the wind. The silk material was finely woven and decorated with intricate patterns of claws and a sphere.
The man's face was chiseled, with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. His eyes were piercing red and seemed to glow with a fierce determination, while his thick eyebrows remained in a relaxed state. His cyan hair was pulled back into a tight knot at the nape of his neck, revealing the elegant curve of his neck and the strong line of his jaw.
This man exuded a kingly aura that made even the most battle-hardened youths quiver with uncertainty. His presence alone was enough to command respect and obedience from those around him, carrying himself with the confidence and grace of a true leader, and his every movement was deliberate and precise, appearing not at all wasteful or unneeded.
But despite his formidable presence, there was a layer of cunningness to his expression that made everyone know that they could not underestimate him.
"I admit defeat."
The opponent who challenged this cyan-haired man didn't even release his aura. He just appeared on the stage and admitted defeat, turning around to leave and returning back to a lesser power.
"..."
The crowd watched this happen with blank expressions, not understanding how the opponents would not even try to battle them.
After all, this was the second time this was happening!
They watched the next power go onto the stage, expecting that power to at least put up a fight, but they couldn't be any more wrong as that power also admitted defeat.
Like this, the Cyan Soul Rat Clan continued to rake in more wins.
Third win, fourth win, and even fifth win.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDavis's gaze was, of course, on the Cyan Soul Rat Immortal, who stood there on the battle stage unmovingly while receiving free wins. Although he hadn't personally seen him before, Davis knew that he was the Cyan Soul Rat King who had ascended from the Grand Beginnings Continent and was nurtured to be their next ruler.
They still had a feud between them, but as Mo Tian, he wasn't going to bring that up now.
Nonetheless, he couldn't help but chuckle as he saw this farce playing out. It was even more shameless than his surrender that he didn't know where these powers got the moral high ground to look down on him.
After all, every battle after the bullshit he had committed in the sixth battle was like damage control.
After the Lumin Family entered, they were only able to win once before the Blazing Thunder Sect thwarted them. Then the Blazing Thunder Sect was only able to win once before another power thwarted them.
But after that, it was like the politics changed, as though everyone realized that they couldn't be hasty about the way they battled.
Then, fast-forwarding to the next battles, they were not actually fought but were just given free wins. It was so frustrating to watch as these people reserved all their powers, not even using a bit of energy to at least make an effort to act like they were battling- just like now.
"I admit defeat."
Davis saw the last challenger admit defeat, causing the Cyan Soul Rat Clan to gain six wins in total, matching up to the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan. He cast a glance at the Starlight Jade Wolf King and saw that his expression didn't change but still appeared amused as though he expected this to happen.
Relocating his gaze, he saw a scoreboard that was put up some time ago but was now revised with the Cyan Soul Rat Clan's last win.
[Starlight Jade Wolf Clan - 6 wins]
[Cyan Soul Rat Clan - 6 wins]
[Zyrus Family - 2 wins]
[Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan - 2 wins]
[Golden Crow Clan - 2 wins]
[Goldlust Rat Clan - 2 wins]
[Dark Void Flame Tribe - 2 wins]
[Evernight Phantasm Spirit Tribe - 2 wins]
[Blazing Thunder Sect - 1 win]
[Lumin Family - 1 win]
[Bloodcloud Family - 0 win]
The ones who had obtained wins were clearly major powers who owned Prefectures excluding the Bloodcloud Family because they were screwed over by him and the Blazing Thunder Sect that refused to act as a subordinate. Nonetheless, looking further into the list, Davis got to know that he wanted to know.
[Moon Purging Sect - 0 win]
[Minn Family - 0 win]
[Devilish Flame Fox Clan - 0 win]
[Torrential Wave Lion Clan - 0 win]

From looking at this chart that held ten prefectural powers and seventeen provincial powers, it became pretty damn clear to Davis that the Cyan Soul Rat Clan and Zyrus Family combined at least possessed ten provincial powers at their helm.
Otherwise, they would be in no way able to send those provincial powers against the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to exhaust them and finally send him to oust them, only to be screwed over by him but still possess eight more provincial powers to get two wins and six wins respectively without any fight whatsoever.
For them to possess that many provincial powers underneath them, Davis finally understood that this whole event was a farce.
Not only him but by this time, every leader who didn't know better had noticed it, but what could they say?
If they backed out, then they might have to kill themselves.
In fact, Davis could tell that the battle was not conducted on the stage but in the back alley where wealth was exchanged.
There were already rumors of buying off provincial powers already to rake in wins for the other battles, as even if they even managed to gain one win over the other power, the chances that they would be in the top three would drastically increase, giving them more voting rights in the alliance.
This also meant that some provincial powers could turn traitors to the prefectural power that they initially allied with.
Within the inner hall, the atmosphere was pretty distrustful, but the guests were clueless as ever, still thinking that no one dared to face the opponents on the stage because they were strong or were trying to preserve their energy for the next round since it was already clear who the winner of this battle segment was.
"Everyone," The Zyrus Family Patriarch stood up and announced, "We should commend the courage, strength, and unwavering commitment of our younger generation to our respective powers as they faced challenges and complexities in order to obtain these wins for us."
"As a result, the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan and the Cyan Soul Rat Clan have tied up in first place, making it so that they receive three votes each. As for the powers who only have two wins, including my own Zyrus Family, we have tied in the second place, allowing us to bag two votes each. While the other powers have not won anything, and so failed to obtain anything, the Blazing Thunder Sect and the Lumin Family tied for third place, managing to receive one vote each."
"With that declared, we will move to the next battle segment without a stop."
The Zyrus Family Patriarch announced and gestured towards the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan.
"As the first power to obtain six wins, please..."
He invited the Starlight Jade Wolf King to decide the next battle segment through the mystery box.
