Ethan couldn't help but open his eyes widely in shock. Even when he was in the other world, he didn't see anything like it. The Hedo kingdom's royal family was the most influential and richest family in the world as a whole. Yet, all the potions they collected all over the world couldn't be compared to that.
"How much?" Ethan asked.
"I'm not selling," Ian replied. "I'm giving it to you. This isn't being sold to anyone since creating this is way too troublesome. The alchemist is pretty lazy if you ask me, and I can only get one of those per week."
That was already more impressive than Ethan had imagined. Still, that raised even more questions. Why was he still on the F rank if Ian could drink one potion every week? Certainly, Lyla was giving classes to students of upper ranks, so he had no real reason not to go up.
In any case, that was an opportunity Ethan couldn't let it pass. Ian was a troublesome and annoying guy, but he wasn't someone ordinary. He had too many secrets… that being said, Ethan probably had even more. Even if Ethan couldn't get these types of potions on his hands frequently, even one per month would be worth the hassle of getting involved with Ian… probably. There was a small chance of it. Hopefully... Ethan never felt so unsure about anything in his life before.
"Very well," Ethan said. "I accept your offer."
"Really?" Ian asked with his eyes shining. "Thanks, man. Now I won't have to use some underhanded tactics to force you to join our course."
"… What would you do if I refused this offer?" Ethan crossed his arms and then asked.
"Do you really want to know?" Ian approached and then whispered. "I would edit the video of your last session on the simulator. To be more precise, I would cut the part where you called Emily cute and divulge to everyone in the school. That would cause all sorts of problems, but in the end, she would end up falling in love with you."
Ethan facepalmed when he heard that. It was utterly stupid… so stupid that now he was questioning if Ian was really a top-class assassin. As if someone who was called the cursed hero and was feared by all the inhabitants of the whole world would care about such a thing. Besides, that was the kind of development that would happen in comics, not in real life.
"I assume the alchemist attends this school. Is she around right now?" Ethan asked.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Nope," Ian shrugged his shoulders. "She is an exception, and since the potions she makes are awesome, she doesn't have to come to school. You see, when some people forced her to come, she stopped making potions, and that was a huge problem. So, in order to stay on her good side, the higher-ups decided to give her free reins."
In the end, that wasn't unexpected. Although Ethan also felt that coming to the school was a waste of time, it was because he didn't think he wouldn't find any use in such a place. It looked like the alchemist didn't lose her powers and knowledge, so she really could do that kind of thing and force others to stay out of her way.
"I can let you meet her if you want, but since you live in the central part of the country, it can't be today," Ian explained while checking his wristwatch. "I live in New York, and so does the alchemist. I can offer you a ride to my place tomorrow after class."
Ian was no fool. It was obvious that he wanted to make Ethan fill his part of the bargain first. It was a pain, but it couldn't be helped. However, instead of that, Ethan began to think about something else.
"Your place?" Ethan asked. "Also, I don't remember telling you where I live."
"Knowledge is power… you never heard of that?" Ian asked. "You are a summoned hero. So many more people know about you than you think. Besides, your big sis is also pretty famous. Didn't I mention it? The alchemist is my little sister."
Ethan sighed after hearing that… what were the odds of finding another pair of siblings that were summoned to other worlds? A pair of warrior and mage siblings wasn't that odd, but an assassin and an alchemist? That was way too weird.
"Can't we use those wristwatches to go to your home right now?" Ethan asked.
"Nope, those can only be used to move between registered points, and you can't increase the number of places you can go. I'm sure you can understand why," Ian explained. "In any case, don't be in a hurry. Tomorrow you will meet her and will be able to return to home on the same day."
After saying that, Ian left while humming. Ethan forgot to ask about how he would give him a ride… then again, Ian was probably from a rich family, given that his little sister could produce those crazy potions. Most likely, he will bring a chopper to school tomorrow.
"What a show-off…" Ethan sighed.
In any case, to think that he would find so many odd heroes so quickly… he felt a bit mentally tired since he left himself to fall at Ian's pace. That being said, he received something impressive in exchange, the chance to meet an amazing alchemist. Getting his hands on a mystical potion often was probably impossible. Still, if Ethan could obtain one that could make him recover his mana at that same pace, his magic training would increase by leaps and bounds. With that, Ethan will be able to find the method to control his hero's power even faster.
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom "Well, there is no point in thinking about that," Ethan shrugged. "Let's buy a new weapon and then go to another run on the simulator."
Before Ethan could open his menu, he heard some footsteps approaching. Since he heard them, Ethan assumed it wasn't Ian's. When he turned around, Ethan couldn't help but sigh… his luck was no good.
"You have some nerve to sigh in front of someone who has been looking for you," Emily said. "Miss Lyla is looking for you."
"Why?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know, and I don't care," Emily said. "You made me waste time two days in a row… what did I do to deserve this? Anyway, follow me."
Ethan wanted to say no, but given that his main instructor was looking for him, perhaps it was better just to obey for the time being. He doubted that Lyla would bother him to join her course again, and given the mood she was in before, she probably wanted to talk about something serious.
