CHAPTER 416
Arriving at the park, Liu Xueyi and Andromeda walked hand in hand in the direction he was to meet with Zheng Ying.
Although he did not call her personally again the previous day. He got a text from her concerning the meeting place.
"Where is she?" The moment Andromeda asked that question, Liu Xueyi tugged on her hand, pulling her body closer to his.
"She's there, last table by your left outside the small eatery."
"Oh."
Together they closed the gap, coming to a stop in front of Zheng Ying.
Just like Andromeda had speculated, ZXheng Ying was shocked out of her wits when she saw Andromeda coming hand in hand over to her table with Liu Xueyi.
She gritted her teeth, clenching hard on her fist underneath the table while trying her best to keep up appearances.
"Xueyi dear."
Andromeda smiled, leaned onto Liu Xueyi's side, and tenderly rubbed his forearm.
"You just had to bring her, didn't you?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"She's my girlfriend. Of course, I can take her with me."
"As your what? Handbag?" Zheng Ying fired with disgust laced in her tone.
"Hahaha, I am his everything, so yes, handbag inclusive," Andromeda flashed her a smile. "But you are what?"
Zheng Ying least expected Andromeda to counter her. She hoped it would make her feel bad, instead, she took it as a compliment.
"An old bag for him?" Andromeda questioned while holding in her laugh. Liu Xueyi on the other hand could not help but chuckle mildly.
It wasn't anybody's fault if Zheng Ying brought this on herself, now, was it?
When they focused their attention back on Zheng Ying who looked rather uncomfortable about all this, Andromeda's smile grew.
"So how do we go around this?" Andromeda asked after calming down from her laughter.
"You weren't invited, wench."
"Hoho..." Andromeda booed. "Honey?"
"Enough, Zheng Ying!" Liu Xueyi bellowed.
"Unlike you, she did not break my heart and ran away with my child. What nonsense were you thinking of? Do you think you have the right to be calling her names? Be thankful I am here speaking to you after all you did. You should be seeing my lawyer now."
Andromeda chuckled at how he spoke to his ex-girlfriend but quickly masked it and rubbed his arm. "Easy, honey. Shall we sit first?" she stated suggestively, completely ignoring Zheng Ying.
They took their seat, the silence that followed thick mimicking the tense atmosphere while they waited for her to begin the discussion.
When she failed to do so, Liu Xueyi shook his head. "I do not see your son."
"My son? He is also your son," she retorted.
"I never argued but I haven't seen him."
"You will if you had responded to my message, then I can arrange for you to meet him. He is sick and I cannot..."
"Sorry to butt in," Andromeda interrupted sharply. "But you keep mentioning he is sick. Shouldn't he know what sickness if Liu Xueyi is his father?"
"What?! Are you trying to insinuate that he is not the father of my son?"
Andromeda picked at her nail, clearly unbothered by the fake acting Zheng Ying was trying to pull.
"No one insinuated anything. It is all in your head."
Her chest rose in anger as she slammed her palm on the table. "Liu Xueyi, did you bring her here to insult me?"
"No one is. Stop playing around and let's get down to it. I want to see the child and tell me what is wrong with his health."
She bit down on her lower lip. Veins popped up at the side of her face and neck. They were ganging up on her. Liu Xueyi was more emotional and affected when it was just the two of them.
She knew once she had to get Andromeda out of there.
"I won't say anything until she leaves," Zheng Ying stated and crossed her arms. She arched a brow quizzically seconds after when she saw neither of them moving.
"So? It's your call, Xueyi. Your son or your girlfriend."
"Andromeda stays."
"No," Andromeda refuted. "You need this. I'll be waiting here," said Andromeda while looking over her shoulder at the restaurant's entrance.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe held her left hand and pressed lightly on it. "Are you sure?"
She smiled with a nod. "Yeah. After all, it's just this once she can be this way. Let her enjoy it but don't let her forget her place."
Standing up, she pressed her lips against Liu Xueyi's lips, and he reciprocated, kissing her passionately before pulling away to look into each other eyes again.
"Okay then."
"Love you."
"Love you too," he responded.
Andromeda walked away and he nodded slowly while escorting her with his eyes then turned around himself only after seeing how far ahead Andromeda had already gone into the building.
He looked to Zheng Ying who was still glaring daggers at him as if daring him to do something about his decision.
"Let us begin then," he said as if nothing happened just now. "What is wrong?"
"When do you want to see him?" She quickly changed the topic, hoping to play her game well now that Andromeda was gone.
"Tomorrow but for today, I need you to explain yourself clearly. Why did you leave knowing you carried my son?"
His gaze darkened, making her feel uncomfortable under its weighty pressure.
He seemed like a different person from what she remembered of their past relationship—the one where they were both happy together in spite of everything else going on between them.
Now it felt more like she was dealing with an enemy than a lover.
She sighed heavily and leaned back on the chair. It seemed like he took Andromeda's words to put her in her place.
"I'm waiting and soon you will find that I am not very patient," his deep voice threatened.
"Where do I begin?" She lowered her gaze to his and tried to put on the sad face of a broken lady.
"Speak," he ordered once more, adding more pressure to the already tense atmosphere.
"I already left when I found out I was pregnant and was too ashamed to go back," Zheng Ying blurted out quickly.
