The only explanation now was that there might be outsiders involved.

And the outsiders were definitely influential and powerful.

So, there was no doubt that she was more than a little worried now that she was aware that there was a third party

involved. Although she had been concealing Apollo’s identity very well, she couldn’t feel completely at ease.

“Mom, don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself. I’ve already made an appointment with Keith tonight. This

would be the first time I will be meeting my own father. I can’t miss the appointment.” Apollo was definitely a man

of action. After he learned about the result of the paternity test, he asked Alice for Keith’s number and then

immediately sent a message to Keith.

The message Apollo sent to Keith was very simple. A time, an address, and a short sentence; ‘It’s up to you whether

you decide to come. I won’t wait once you miss the appointment.’

He just wanted to test Keith, just to see if he would come. If Keith didn’t come, he planned to stop caring about his

biological father altogether.

Apollo was seven years old. It didn’t matter if he had a father, and it didn’t matter if he acknowledged his father. He

didn’t need his father to live well.

On the contrary, he was already seven years old. His father hadn’t accepted or fulfilled any responsibilities except

giving him some small contributions in the beginning.

How could he be enthusiastic about meeting his father now?

So, when Keith called him and texted him, he didn’t bother answering.

Apollo had one purpose at the moment. If Keith didn’t show up, he would never acknowledge him as his father.

“You have an appointment with Keith tonight?” Alice really didn’t expect Apollo to make such advances. “Did Keith

agree?”

“Yeah, he agreed,” Apollo said. Since he ignored Keith’s calls and texts, finally, Keith texted. ‘See you there.’ This

had to count as an agreement, right?

“Then, I’ll go with you. I can postpone going to Cliaria.” Although Alice wanted to deal with the Wolands, Apollo was

more important than that right now.

Since this was such a big deal, she felt that she should accompany Apollo.

“No, why should you postpone your plane?” Apollo immediately rejected Alice’s offer. He wasn’t holding onto the

hope of reuniting with his father at this meeting.

If his mother had gone with him, it would be different. Some might think children would want their mothers to

always be there, but Apollo would never want that.

With Apollo, his mother was absolutely not allowed to suffer any grievances.

“Mom, stop worrying and just go about your business. Don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself. Mom, I got

to go now. Bye.” Apollo was afraid that Alice would insist again, so he immediately hung up.

He needed to be prepared to meet his father.

“Alright, don’t worry. I’ll keep an eye on him.” Although Lydia didn’t hear Apollo clearly, she could guess what was

going on when Alice mentioned Keith.

“Although Keith is unreliable, he definitely wouldn’t dare to act sloppily with such an important issue. He can

definitely take good care of Apollo.”

“What’s up with Keith?” Cecilia was confused.

“I forgot to tell you, the paternity test results came out yesterday and I didn’t have the time to tell you that our

Apollo found his biological father. It’s that b*stard Keith…” Lydia gulped, saying the words forcefully. She honestly

couldn’t imagine how their dear Apollo’s father was Keith.

“So, the current situation is that Apollo found his biological father and his father is Keith, but Alice married Ethan?”

Cecilia blinked, why did she feel like this was like a… cheesy drama?!

After seven years, Apollo finally found his biological father. Although Alice was married, the person she married

wasn’t his biological father?!

“Haha! Haha! If you didn’t say it, I wouldn’t have thought about it like that. That’s quite…” Lydia couldn’t find any

words to describe Alice’s life at the moment.

“However, Alice married Ethan because of Caroline. Furthermore, when Alice married Ethan, she didn’t know that

Keith was Apollo’s biological father.”

“Even if I knew that Keith was Apollo’s biological father, it would be impossible for me to marry Keith just because

of that.” Alice felt silly when she heard the women’s discussion.

What happened seven years ago was a mistake, and it was impossible to make up for the past mistake.

As for providing a complete family for the child… That family should be happy and harmonious. It shouldn’t be a

family devoid of any affection or one that consists of forced and strained relationships.

Unhappy and broken families would only hurt their children more.

Apollo had insisted that she stayed out of this. Although Lydia offered to keep an eye on things, Alice knew that she

would be too busy with work.

Lydia was a workaholic. Once she started working, she would ignore everything else. Therefore, Alice decided that

she would arrange for someone else to secretly protect Apollo.

She also wanted to settle the Woland issue as soon as possible. Thus, Alice booked a ticket to Cliaria that day.

It was already past 10.00PM by the time Ethan returned to the Knight’s Residence. When he was eavesdropping

outside the private room, he had heard that Alice wouldn’t fall in love with him no matter what. He could admit that

he was upset at the time.

Still, when he thought about their marriage certificate, she would never be able to escape from him. Besides, they

had many years to come.

“Daddy, you’re home,” Caroline saw him and greeted him immediately, but she looked unhappy.

“Mmm, where’s Mommy?” Ethan asked instinctively when he didn’t see Alice around, not noticing the little girl was

upset.

Caroline glared at him immediately. “You don’t even know where your own wife is and you’re asking me?”

Ethan was rendered speechless.

The little girl looked like an angry bear; why was she so angry?!

“Your wife called and said she won’t be back tonight,” Coraline was genuinely displeased, especially after seeing

how unbothered Ethan was. “Not only will she not return tonight, but she won’t be around for the next two days.”

Her mom had called to say that she had something to do and was going on a trip, so she wouldn’t be able to see

her for two days.

Although her mother said two days, Caroline could feel her mother starting to distance herself from her. She felt

that her mother might slowly alienate her with time.

“You can’t even keep your own wife, so what’s the use of having you around?” Caroline blamed her father for being

so useless. The man couldn’t even keep his wife around.

If her father was good enough to keep her mother around, her mother would definitely not leave.

Ethan’s breath was caught in his chest, the little girl was getting more and more savage.

Nonetheless, Ethan immediately caught on to Caroline’s point. “You said that your mother won’t be coming back for

the next two days?”

“That’s right, Mommy called and said she won’t be seeing me for the next two days. I don’t think Mommy wants to

see me anytime soon.” Caroline felt so hurt that she was on the verge of crying.
