Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

“What? That’s a lie. I can sue you for slander!” Emma got nervous. She would never confess to that. She would not

let her hard-earned reputation fall into ruins. She can’t do anything about it because she doesn’t have evidence.

“It’s not a lie. I have proof. I recorded our conversation in case you denied you ever made a deal with me.” Xandra

might just be a no-name model, but she had been working in the industry for years and she had seen too much of

its underbelly, so she picked up a few tricks along the way. She then whipped her phone out and played a recording.

‘Do something for me and I’ll get you a modeling job at Glenn Group.’ That was Emma’s voice.

‘What’s the favor?’

‘Slip your necklace into Alice’s bag and accuse her of theft. Once this is done, you’ll be a model affiliated with Glenn

Group.’

That recording was proof enough, and Emma’s face turned as white as a sheet. She wanted to deny it, but the

proof was right there.

“Ah, so Emma’s behind this. Then…” Alice looked at Emma and smiled, pausing for a while deliberately. Everyone

thought she would let this slide because it was Emma. After all, despite the sabotage, Emma was still family.

Derek’s face fell. She can’t let this slide, can she? Emma obviously wants to ruin her. Can’t she see that?

Under everyone’s curious gazes, Alice slowly said, “Then take her away, officers.”

Derek froze for a moment. Dear Lord, can’t you finish your sentence in one go?

“Oh, okay.” The cop couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Now that things are cleared up, there’s no need for any footage. May I have my camera back, Mr. Jenkins?” Alice

looked at the ‘camera’ Derek was holding.

“Oh, okay.” Derek paused for a moment. He was a bit reluctant to give it back. We already have the laptop. Why

aren’t we watching the footage? However, the culprit had already confessed to the crime, so there was no need to

watch it anymore. Moreover, he was embarrassed that he hadn’t found the USB port on the ‘camera’ yet. To be

fair, every time he tried to have a closer look, Alice would interrupt him.

Alice took the ‘camera’ over, still calm and collected as ever.

Ethan shifted his gaze from Alice’s face to the ‘camera’ in her hand, and then something glinted in his eyes. That

camera can’t be fake, can it? If it’s fake, then that act of hers was perfect.

“We’ll need you three to come with us,” the cop said quickly. He then turned to Alice and politely requested, “We’ll

need you to come with us too as we need to take your statement.”

“Mr. Jenkins, she’s my guest, and now that the case is closed, there’s no need for her to go with you.” Keith stood

up and approached Alice. When he looked at her, there was a gaze of protection in his eyes.

Alice was the first woman Keith ever defended, and that fact shocked everyone.

Derek froze for a moment, then he looked at Ethan. What? Someone’s trying to defend Alice in front of Ethan? He

can defend any other woman, but not this one. She’s Ethan’s wife. This is ridiculous.

Ethan said nothing, but he was still looking at Alice. Ever since he came into this room, she pretended he was air.

The only attention she gave him was a glance. She could have called him if she was in trouble, but she didn’t, and

when he came, she pretended not to know him. Is she that scared about everyone finding out we’re married? Is

she still going to pretend we’re strangers?

Alice looked at Keith and blinked. She knew this man. Seven years ago, when she found out she was drugged, she

tried to run, but two men came after her. She was just a frail woman back then and she didn’t know how to fight as

well as she did now. On top of that, she was drugged, so there was no way she could outrun two men.

Just when she was about to be captured, she bumped into this man before her. He was also the one who stopped

the men from chasing her. She didn’t lose consciousness back then, so she remembered his face, but she had no

idea he was Keith himself.

It was thanks to him that she managed to make her way into the restroom and disguised herself as Emma. When

she came out of the restroom, the men didn’t realize she was in disguise, but Keith did.

After she went into the elevator, Keith came after her, and he stared at her in awe for a while before asking her

what happened. Just when the doors of the elevator were about to close, Emma’s henchmen came after her again,

presumably knowing she was fake when they saw the real Emma. She remembered how Keith beat up those men.

After that, Alice had been trying to seek him out so she could thank him. If it weren’t for him, she would have faced

a nightmare. However, things happened too suddenly so she didn’t have time to ask him for any details. She had no

idea who he was, so she never did find him. It was a surprise to see him here, and even more of a surprise when

she found out he was Keith.

“Thank you.” There was a stirring of emotion in her voice. That gratitude was not just for the help he was extending

to her right now; it was also for the helping hand he lent her seven years ago.

If it weren’t for him, she would’ve been taken back to that room, where hell awaited her. She did lose

consciousness and ran into someone else’s room and had sex with him, but it was still better than being captured,

she thought.

Hey, wait a minute. He could’ve been the one to take me back to his room after he saved me from those men. He

could be the one I slept with. I mean, he came after me. He might have come back to me again after he defeated

Emma’s henchmen.
