Chapter 414 - I Miss You Too, Baby (2)
The Li family's restaurant situated inside the five-star hotel covered the entire fifteenth floor, giving its guests a spectacular view of the city, especially at night time. Tang Moyu stepped closer to the window, admiring the beautiful variant of lights sparkling in the night. historical
"They have the best view here. Even better than at the top." Feng Tianyi appeared next to her, his coat nowhere in sight. Now, he was just in his deep gray suit with a white dress shirt underneath it. Two of his top buttons were undone, giving him a sophisticated but lazy look.
"Come, Moyu. It's almost time for our dinner to be served." He offered a hand to her, which she gladly accepted. She didn't realize that she'd missed her lunch earlier and was now starving.
The lunch Cheng Ning bought for her had been left cold on top of her desk. It was a pity that she wasn't able to take even a single bite. The empress was a person who hated wasting food, so she deeply regrets knowing that whatever delicious meal her assistant had bought for her would be put to waste.
Tang Moyu was astonished at Feng Tianyi. There were no other guests inside aside from them, giving them the exclusivity of the place. As to how he managed to convince Li Meili's older brother, she had no idea.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe light and melodious sound coming from the piano and the dimly lit candles attempted to set the mood between them, but Tang Moyu didn't even bother to stop and appreciate them.
Weirdly, it didn't feel like they were on a date. Maybe because she had never been on a romantic date before and all the dinner appointments she had in the past with business partners had been strictly business.
However, since this would be the first time for her to have a dinner date with him, Tang Moyu was curious as to how this night would end for the two of them. Thinking about it, she didn't think twice when she rejected Yun Zhen's invitation for dinner, but with Feng Tianyi, she couldn't seem to say no to his request.
She forced the thoughts away from her mind. This wasn't the right time for her to think of another man when she was in Feng Tianyi's company.
Tang Moyu regretted that she hadn't prepared ahead. Tonight, she was still wearing her workday clothes, obviously not the right attire for a special dinner date with him. Perhaps if Feng Tianyi called a little earlier and told her about this impromptu date he'd set with her, she could have asked Cheng Ning to prepare the spare evening dress in her office.
The dishes had been served and Feng Tianyi was sitting silently opposite her, eating a steak while she picked on her food, a little distracted as her mind was occupied with the ongoing collaboration project with Yun Group.
As she continued to remain silent, Feng Tianyi couldn't help but feel disappointed. He put down the knife and fork in his hand and looked at her.
"Moyu, is the food not to your liking? Should I ask the chef to prepare another dish?"
Tang Moyu was immediately brought back to reality by his question. She composed herself and smiled at him.
"I'm sorry. It's just that my mind is a little preoccupied because of work. We've been too busy these days." She wasn't able to comprehend what he was thinking right then.
Was he disappointed in her? Like he said, this was their first date, but she had chosen to think about work instead of paying attention to what they had at the moment.
"Sorry." She apologized again and started eating her own steak.
The waiters in the restaurant suggested that she tried their famous foie gras, but she declined. Tang Moyu was aware of how the foie gras was produced and she wasn't even the least interested in eating or enjoying the fatty liver of the duck or goose.
This was just her personal preference and she wouldn't force anyone to do the same, but knowing its origin, she detested the idea of eating the fattened liver of a duck which was ten to twelve times larger than its normal size.
Foie gras might sound fancy but it was barbaric in Tang Moyu's opinion. With its name alone, which means 'fatty liver', this delicacy didn't sound appetizing on her at all.
"I didn't know that you've been long acquainted with Meili's brother." She said, trying to strike a conversation with him.

"We met several times due to work and mutual associates, but we aren't as close as you think." He replied.
Once, they were done with the main dish, Feng Tianyi stood up from his seat and offered a hand to his date. Tang Moyu raised a brow at his extended hand.
"We haven't eaten the dessert yet." She reminded him.
Feng Tianyi chuckled at that. Give it to the empress to not forget her favorite part of the meal.
"It's going to take a while. Let me dance with you first. But you have to forgive me. I haven't any practice for years." He winked at her knowingly.
Feng Tianyi put her hand on his shoulder and held onto the other, leading her to the empty dance floor. The orc.h.e.s.tra set on the stage started to play as the two slowly danced. He suddenly turned them around, surprising her as he smiled at her.
Tang Moyu moved her hand on his shoulder to hook it around his neck, bringing them closer together.
"Still naughty even on our date? You are really something else, Mr. Feng." Then her eyes caught the half-eaten steak on his plate that was left on their table. "You didn't finish your meal. Not hungry?"
"I would like to eat, but I think I need to wait a little longer." He said flirtatiously. Not even trying to hide his intent.
"What?" She blinked at that.
"You."
