Chapter 1095 This Is Not My Husband
Her soft voice sounded a little uncertain as if she was not sure about his attitude. But when he heard it, Bert sensed
somewhat strange.
At this point, Bert was dragged into the food stall by Alivia.
The owner saw them hesitating from afar and, upon their entry, immediately smiled and asked, "What would you
like to eat, miss?"
Alivia handed over the menu, saying, "Let's take a look first."
"Sure! I saw you dragging your husband in earlier. As a thank-you for your trust, I'll treat you to two appetizers
later!" The boss was a savvy businessman and made a grand gesture.
However, these words made Alivia's face turn bright red. She glanced at Lucas, understanding why he
misunderstood, and quickly shook her head, "No, he's not my husband."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSeeing her shy and awkward, the boss's smile grew even broader. In a familiar tone, he said, "You youngsters are
shy, alright, alright, I won't ask."
With that, he didn't even give Alivia a chance to explain and went straight back to his stall to attract more
customers.
Alivia swallowed her saliva and gathered the courage to shift her gaze to the man beside her. Bert hadn't wanted to
come here in the first place, and she was genuinely afraid that he might leave if he got upset.
However, when she nervously met his deep black eyes, they were calm as if he hadn't heard the boss's words at all,
not even a hint of a ripple.
Alivia swallowed her saliva and smiled awkwardly, "The boss is really enthusiastic."
After saying that, none of them spoke, even Lucas just "sympathetically" gazed at him. Alivia handed the menu to
Bert, "You can take a look and see if there's anything you'd like to eat."
Looking at the trembling hand, Bert raised his hand to take it, but immediately handed it back to her, "It's up to
you."
Lucas sensed the awkward atmosphere and looked at the menu with his big eyes, changing the topic, "Mr. Harper,
do you like the Steamed Crab? There are also Stir-fried Shrimp and Seafood Stir-fried Noodles."
"It's okay. Order whatever you want."
Hearing him agree, Alivia felt relieved. She was deeply moved and gently patted Lucas's little head, "Order
whatever you like, I will treat you!"
"Thank you, Ms. Graves!"
"Don't mention it. Later, don't get left behind to wash the dishes," Bert picked up the cup on the table, looked at it
as if it were dirty, and then put it back down.
Alivia took the cup, poured hot water from the teapot, and handed it back to him after rinsing it, rolling her eyes
silently, "I can afford this open-air stall, you know..."
Besides, she had checked the prices earlier, and apart from the crabs being a bit expensive, everything else was

Seeing her persistence, Bert had a demeanor as if he wanted to reach up and pick the moon for Lucas. He didn't
continue teasing her and simply drank some hot water from the cup she rinsed.
Lucas ordered three pieces of Steamed Crab, a plate of Stir-fried Shrimp, and a plate of Stir-fried Clams. Alivia also
added a small portion of Garlic Steamed Oysters, Green Mussels in Ginger Sauce, as well as a plate of Seafood Stir-
fried Noodles.
In less than ten minutes, the steamed crabs were served, still steaming hot. The boss placed a stack of disposable
gloves and continued to attend to other customers.
Looking at the front-orange-colored crabs, Alivia, experienced in handling them, took one and started to crack it
open. Seeing that neither Bert nor Lucas had moved, she couldn't help but wonder, "You should eat them while
they're still warm; they're not as easy to peel once they cool down."
Freshly steamed crabs were the most tender, and once they cooled down, the meat wouldn't be as firm.
Lucas put on the gloves, looking a bit uncertain, "Ms. Graves, how do I peel this?"
