Chapter 1371 Dad Will Be Fine
Seeing her approach, the three of them all looked over, especially her mother, Wallis, whose face was somewhat
grim, clearly shocked by the 'warm' reception at the hospital.
Beryl was preoccupied with her father in the operating room and hadn't realized the extent of the
misunderstanding that might be caused by her appearing with Marcellus.
She quickly walked over to Wallis, grabbing her somewhat cold hand, "Mom, how is Dad doing?"
"We don't know yet, he just went into the operating room half an hour ago, "Wallis spoke with red- rimmed eyes,
clearly fraught with panic and concern.
"Mom, don't worry. Dad will be okay," Beryl, who had been frantic all the way, was now comforting others.

shoulders, instead touching his neck nonchalantly and looking elsewhere.
Wallis knew it wasn't the time to talk, so she didn't ask in detail, but her gaze at her daughter was very complex.
Marcellus's assistant, Mike, and bodyguards arrived at the hospital later. The group of four or five tall, large men
dressed in black suits standing on both sides had an intimidating presence, even without saying a word.
Seemingly aware of the discomfort of Beryl's family, Marcellus went over and said something to one of them. Not
long after, those men left the scene.
Beryl had watched his actions the entire time, knowing that he was considering her. Her normally cold heart
suddenly became soft and warm, and the long waiting time seemed less grinding due to this small gesture.
As Marcellus turned around to walk back, he met the girl's blank gaze. Unlike his usually flippant demeanor, this
time he didn't say anything. He just stood at a distance, seemingly afraid of disturbing them.
This considerate Marcellus, who was mindful of others' feelings, was someone she had never seen before. Only
after witnessing this did Beryl realize that what he had said before was true; he wasn't someone who joked around
with everyone and clung to others, he just acted like that in front of her.
Beryl averted her gaze, slightly lowering her head to look at the floor. The pale light cast a small halo on the tiles,
and there was a warm spot in her heart that was too intense to ignore.
Almost an hour later, the tightly closed doors of the operating room finally opened. The doctor walked out and his
face still covered with a white mask. His gaze slid across the bench, "Who is the patient's family?"
Wallis immediately stood up and walked over, "I am! I am the patient's wife!"
"The surgery was very successful, and the final procedures are being carried out. You can rest assured; he can be
moved to the ward soon. The effects of the anesthesia haven't worn off yet, he is still unconscious, there's no need
to worry excessively." The doctor's low voice came out from behind the mask.

Wallis's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled. The tension suddenly relaxed, and she
weakened, her legs gave out, and she started to fall...
Fortunately, Beryl was standing by her side, and she quickly supported her to prevent her from falling to the
ground.
She exclaimed and quickly checked Wallis's complexion, "Mom? What's wrong?"
Wallis gripped her arm tightly, her voice shaky, "I'm fine. I was probably just too tense earlier. I feel a bit light-
headed now..."
Upon hearing this, the doctor immediately called a nurse over, "The patient's family member is quite emotional,
administer a calming IV drip."
