Asmodeus was entirely aware of all of his son's secrets.
The moment that Exedra attempted to attack his father's soul, he of course defended himself and destroyed his soul as a counter.
While that wasn't something done of his own free will, he did feel bad about it.
After destroying his son's soul, he sifted through the fragments and was surprised when he saw two sets of memories.
One belonged to a young hybrid boy, and the other belonged to a human from a world that was unlike anything he'd ever seen.
Asmodeus read almost all the memories of both in morbid fascination and he was even able to see how the two souls fused together.
He'd seen everything up until the point where his son cut open his chest and ate a piece of his heart.
After that, the fragments were somehow taken away and a few moments later, the soul returned reforged and stronger than ever.
Asmodeus was freed from the shackles binding his soul and fell into a deep slumber, his dreams consisting of his son and the strange soul sharing his body.
So a moment ago, he'd simply absentmindedly said the name of the individual he'd spent the most time thinking about.
Not because he was unconcerned with his son, but because he could not suppress his overwhelming curiosity about the soul he was now bonded to.
"Who is Carter?"
That sudden question made Asmodeus remember that his son had chosen not to divulge his dual identity.
'Shit...' Asmodeus apologized internally.
"Ah... forgive me, my love. It seems as though my mind is still addled." He said as he feigned a light headache.
If Yara didn't know, he wouldn't tell her.
He figured it was up to his son to decide when, if ever, he told them.
The dragoness immediately became concerned and she nearly teleported to her husband's side.
"Are you alright, darling? Maybe you should rest more." she said in a voice thick with worry.
Not waiting for his answer, Yara began to pull him towards the bed.
"I am fine, my dear. I assure you." Asmodeus comforted.
He slowly cupped Yara's face in his hands and planted a warm kiss on her plump lips.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAlmost nineteen years.
That's how long it'd been since the last time the two had shared a kiss, yet they fell into a rhythm as if it had only been nineteen minutes.
The world around them slowly disappeared and turned into nothingness as they lingered in each other's grasp.
A single tear fell from Yara's eye.
This warmth, this affection, was something that she genuinely missed and she felt waves of indescribable joy.
Her husband was alive, he was here, and Yara was whole again.
This incredible blessing was one that she would not take for granted for as long as she lived.
With a flushed face, Yara broke their kiss and slipped out of her clothes.
She said nothing but Asmodeus hardly needed to hear anything in that moment.
'I won't make her beg this time.' He thought happily as he pushed his wife onto the bed.
What followed was a mix of animalistic passion and tender care.
After such a long time apart, the two were both in desperate need of a good release.
- 4 hours later
Once the newly reunited couple thoroughly enjoyed themselves with each other's bodies, Yara immediately passed out, leaving her husband wide awake.
Asmodeus cleaned up his unconscious wife and tucked her into bed before exiting the room and running right into an old friend.
Standing in the hallway were Audrina and Valerie with both of their daughters in their arms.
They were on their way to look for Bekka who was currently missing when the door to the guest room opened and a tall, charming demon stepped out.
"Asmodeus?" Audrina called in shock.
Asmodeus stared hard at the vampire in her true appearance. "Aren't you supposed to be a cat?"
"How do you know that and when did you wake up?!"
"Just now." Asmodeus lied and ignored the other part of her question.
Audrina sniffed the air that reeked of sex and immediately knew the demon was lying.
If Exedra didn't have the rooms soundproofed, the entire house would have heard Yara's delighted screams.
'I see those two are getting along just as well as ever.' Audrina thought with contempt.
It may not have been as long as Yara but she was frustrated too!
Her husband was supposed to officially make her his yesterday but he had to be an idiot and overdo it in a stupid sparring match!
"Mother, who is this?" Thea suddenly asked.
Audrina was shaken from her jealous spiral by the small human in her arms.
'Mother?' Asmodeus wondered.
Audrina nodded before making introductions.
"Asmodeus, this is Thea. She's your granddaughter."
"Hm?"
The demon looked at the small human girl in Audrina's arms.
He did not recognize her from the images he'd seen in his son's memories but there was no way to know how much time had passed since he'd been asleep.
'But still...'
He had seen a lot of humans in his life, but he had never seen one like his supposed granddaughter.
A human child that would willfully jump into the arms of someone from another race and start calling them mother was certainly an oddity.
He could also smell an intriguing scent from her that he had not smelled in some time.
'The divine element...'
"I'm your granddaughter too!" Mira suddenly shouted as she waived furiously.
"And I am your daughter in law." Valerie said as she bowed slightly.
Asmodeus smiled slightly. "It is nice to meet you all."
"Is my son around?" he suddenly asked.
Valerie and Audrina looked at each other awkwardly before nodding and walking towards their bedroom.
The demon followed behind, confused about why the girls were making such awkward faces.
The group entered the bedroom of a man Asmodeus didn't recognize.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHowever, a single second was all it took for him to recognize his son's aura.
And that wasn't all.
'Father?'
Asmodeus could feel the essence of his father Lucifer pouring out from every pore of his son's body.
It was as if his son was handmade by the adversary himself.
'So that's how it is...' Asmodeus realized.
He couldn't fathom how one young man could've possibly been bestowed with a gift from someone stronger than most gods.
"My idiot husband used a power too strong for his current self and damaged his soul." Audrina explained.
"Husband?!"
The vampire put on a sudden cheeky smile. "Fufufu~ Didn't I tell you? I am your daughter in law as well!"
Asmodeus didn't know what to say.
In hindsight he should've realized it sooner when he heard Thea address her as mother, but it seemed as though he simply failed to connect the dots.
The demon suddenly gave his son a pitying look. "I'm sorry, boy. But you only have yourself to blame for attracting her attention."
"Oi! He's a willing participant!" Audrina yelled.
The primordial demon ignored her outburst and analyzed his son a bit more closely. "What was the power that he used?"
Valerie answered this time as she placed Mira down at the foot of the bed. "It was some sort of transformation. He was overflowing with power and he was gaining more and more every second."
'Primordial demon's will? He's unsealed the second ability already??' Asmodeus thought in shock.
He couldn't believe his son had already acquired a power that he could only use upon his fourth evolution.
No wonder Audrina called him an idiot! Using that level of power with an unevolved body is tantamount to suicide!
He could only guess that his son must have been facing a terrible foe.
"Was there some sort of enemy?" Asmodeus asked. "Were you all attacked?"
Audrina and Valerie once again looked at the floor in mild embarrassment.
"He was sparring with his master..." Valerie muttered.
"A spar?!"
"A spar." Audrina confirmed.
Asmodeus suddenly had a massive headache.
He had never understood a parent's urge to hit their child until right this moment.
